It's easy: every video on you tube has a code, when you pull it up, you'll find it in the browser window after the = sign. Copy that code, then when you're posting, at the top of your post box you see a You Tube logo. Click on that, then paste the video code in between the opening/closing YT tags.

You term it "negativity." I consider it reality. But, once again it is a matter of personal opinion.

You do.....I don't.

If you're after specific instances, I can't supply them. I could likely come up with a few if I were willing to spend more time listening to more regular broadcast radio, but I'm not willing to subject myself to that. And it's not that I don't enjoy music, quite the opposite. But I'll stick with my large collection of CD's.

They are definitely in my top 5 bands of all time. If I could figure out what I am doing wrong with You tube I would put up a few really cool tunes.

Riss, they are definitely better then The Tragically Hip.
Okay, the band name is 'Catherine Wheel'...I really am not very hip at all.

Thanks, I will give them a listen to too,....ahem, 'better than the Hip', again, that's too subjective to say.

Celine's music also makes me want to break things.

She and Rene are just too creepy too, with their January/December relationship *shiver* he was her manager when she was like 13 or something....ick.

Bump, I guess it's just that I don't have a problem with the minimum Canadian content rule. I think it's a positive and not a negative, in fact.

If we didn't have that we might as well be American, watching their TV and listening to their music- and I think it's good to encourage and support our own brand of culture, is all. The world would be pretty boring if there was one country producing all the entertainment.

Artists often succeed for reasons other than getting airplay- it's marketing and money, for a lot of them. (look at Britney Spears, with her complete lack of talent. Look at the New Kids on the Block! Milli Vanilli!)
So I think it's a good rule.

We can disagree, it's not the first time, right?

Chan Marshall has such a wonderful, deep, "smoky but smooth" voice. I love it. As for Fiona Apple, she takes the cake. I've loved her from the very beginning, many years ago. My sister and I saw her on her first tour in 6 years in Portland a couple years ago. It was the first date on the tour, and it was amazing. I was front and center, and almost touched her! Freakin' Awesome.

Not sure that a "HIP" chick like you would like them but here is one of their most popular tunes "Black Metallic"

Another one "Delicious"

and one of my all time favs "Heal"

oh, and thanks Heather - I was not sure how to do this either.

Abso-freakin'-lutely. And it won't be the last, m'dear, it won't be the last. I can gay-ron-tee it. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
