Longer Hair… Older Women

Okay… I’m getting to the point where I’m considering a hair change. And, being as how I’m at or near or beyond whatever that certain age is, I’m wondering what other people consider “acceptable” at my age. (Funny how I never much considered that before… ) I will probably never take it short (since I’m still rebelling from the haircuts forced on me as a child), but I’m considering a change to all one length at my shoulders as opposed to halfway down my back layers. (And cutting it is not really because of the age thing, as much as other factors, like healthy ends and stuff like that.)

So… do you have an opinion about older women with longer hair?

Edit: And, though you're welcome to give me an opinion on what to do with my hair, I'm just wondering these things for women in general.

I think she should wear it however she wants... I don't think I've thought much about how long a woman's hair is... I think I've noticed if it was overprocessed or unhealthy and NEEDED to be cut for those reasons, but not because she hit a certain birthday...

I wish I had the kind of hair that looked good long... my sister does (and she's older than ME):

OMG. I've been listening to my mother telling me that I'm at the age where I should cut my hair since I was 25. Whatever floats your boat is what I say. Short, medium, long......who cares as long as you feel good.

Did you ever just wonder a teensy bit if she's right? I've got a few years on you though... I wondered before now, but now I'm actually considering it. I worry myself sometimes.

Don't do that! Men's opinions are just as, maybe even more, important!

(I think she meant that men's hair length wasn't included.)

I think we should do whatever we want But I don't think anyone should change their hair just because they reach a 'certain age'.

However....some older women do look better, and younger, with a shorter, updated do. Long hair can drag down an already thinning sagging face (that goes for any age actually) .
I don't know what I'm going to do when I get to that point...I don't look good with short hair...and the bangs are staying!!!

Anyone should wear their hair however they want until the day they die. Of course, if it's unflattering or ridiculous we reserve the right to make fun of you, just as we would snicker at mutton in lamb's clothing (says the woman who will someday be ridiculed in the nursing home for her tattoos).

Just kidding.

The End.
