Excellent trip report. Thank you so much for sharing all those pictures of La Tortuga. It looks like a fabulous place and now on my list of hotels to try!

Day 2: Sunrise beach walk, Run with Mr. Burnt, El Bistro, and Off to the beach! The waves are Huge! Hooked up with our Boy Edwaurdo, spelling?, and got two wave runners for $110.00 American. Best deal I was able to find. Told him this is the first of a couple times were going to rent them so make it good. Caught Huge air! We had a ball!! We beat the piss out of ourselves and the SeaDoos. I'm going to feel this in the morning! After our time was up, we hung at Mamita's for a bit and took in the vibes. Back to La T. Boy is lovin the in room WiFi and I'm goin to " The Bucket"

What a pretty smile she has here.
Great pictures, Yucatanned! You are making me wish for La Tortuga. My nephew did the same thing as poor 'burnt on his first trip to the 'roo. Ever since then I have been the sunscreen nag, it's so bad my daughter say"I put stuff on" every time I sorta look in her direction ![]() |

No those are further south like by Playa Maya. We just camped out and got cokes. No charge. Mamita's was OK for the obvious reasons but truly I kind of felt like it was full of fake boobs and real A**holes. But LaTortuga did hand out passes for Mamita's

Well alrighty then. Talked with lovely Paloma for a bit and decided time to try CH Super Carnes! Kind of confusing old one-new one 1st or 25th. We decided to try the old location first.
![]() ![]() ![]() Bad pic of the Arracharra thumb over the flash The food was FANTASTIC, the service was great but it was really really Hot and smokey! Worth it though. Back to the Bucket for a night cap, which for us was about 8:30pm and off to the great beds and spanish discovery channel! Party Animals! Last edited by Yucatanned : 04-11-2008 at 10:24 PM. |

Sunrise Walk, Java Joes and MEGA!
Same as everyday here. Up at 5:00 and on the beach by 5:30. Why is it that 90% of the Days in Playa start out with a cloud bank to the east? Hard to get sunrise photos!
![]() One place that I have totally neglected to report on, that I am really really addicted to is MEGA! I love this store and I usually don't love ANY store. The Bakery and Deli, Out Of This World! I think the whole tong and tray concept is so cool. For some rreason it does make me buy too much though. I timed the walk from La T and it was 5 min. I sometimes went there twice a day as most of our FAV resturants were right here! They make many different types of hamon and Queso bread products that I could live on if you threw in some of their great fruit and veg produce. Post cards, sunscreen, Cheap cold cervasa, Gringo friendly employees, they got everything goin on! ![]() ![]() ![]() After shopping for the day was over it is back to Java Joes to see all my new homies. If I would miss a day these folks would wander over by La T to make sure all was well. This is the morning I met Scotish Jimmy. We were all hanging out talking, the one fellow had a very pronounced accent. I was recounting the story to him about muleing down the stuff for Heather and Susie Q. How I left it at PG with the bartender and they still got the stuff. What a great bar! He asked " Did you get good service and like the food? Topnoch I told him! Good answer lad he said " I own the place" No kidding! He told me how he used to own the Tequilla Barrel, Yada Yada. Jimmy hooked me up with a get a buzz on Jimmy card to use at PG. Cool, we were going there the next day for UFC fighting as Yucaburnt is totally into the UFC stuff. On this same morning my friend Cheevo ( I will spell it this way at lack of knowledge ) and I began serious talks of building my place down here. So much insight he has! What a Friend Find this guy is! Best move on with the day. Burnin Daylight as John Wayne used to say. Last edited by Yucatanned : 04-12-2008 at 05:41 AM. |
