What amazingly beautiful photos AND the people who are in them. I'm in awe. Thank you, Thor.

Thor Henning, your photos really bring me back. What an amazing place. Oh, man, I really do have to get that scanner now so that I can post some of my photos... I'll get right on it, I promise!

I think we're very lucky here at Playa.info to have a few seasoned travelers and great photographers to boot, and Thor: in my book you're one of those!

I got this scanner a year ago. Very easy to use. It's a Canon CanoScan 8600F. Not too Expensive.

I can't wait for your pictures Anna.

Thor, I hope my compliment doesn't get too diluted by the quantity of its company, but your photos are spectacular. I enjoyed them so much and hope there's more.

Ok, I will post some more.

(I have some more I would like to show you – and some day I would like to show you some of my pictures from Kenya, Ethiopia and Greece).

Thank you James.

Don't, please: I'm not sure Peru can take the Peep stampede.

I had already PM'd Lolabella with this link and forgot to post it here as well.

My good friend Will owns/runs this place.KB Peru - Tours, Hostal and Restaurant

I have known Will for many years and he is great! I also have a friend named Manny, that I've known for 21 years, who just returned from there last Wednesday. He has been there several times before but this time he decided it's where he needs to be. He came back here only to get his affairs in order and he plans to return A.S.A.P. to live there and guide trekking tours. You could not ask for better people to guide you or to just "hang out" with.

They are both Playa veterans as well, not that it matters!

your pictures are incredible. those are better than a national geographic magazine.

ever since i watched this video about 10 years ago:
Ecuador Travel, DVD VHS, Travel Videos of Ecuador
i've wanted to go to the galapagos, the andes, and the amazon. i believe it's possible in one trip. it's a definite must vacation!

keep up with the pictures!

So much to catch up on here! I'm going to start with Thor: your pictures are certainly worth a thousand words and more. 'Incredible' comes to mind, but doesn't even do them justice. They remind that the world is still a beautiful place full of fascinating people. I want to stand in all the places you have and I want to know all the stories behind those faces. Thank you! Please post more!

Anna: Eagerly awaiting your photos as well. I'm not sure where else I'm going to visit. You've given me so much to think about. This will be a once in a lifetime trip, so I want to make sure I do all that I can. I'm leaning alot towards the Galapagos.

Corey (Bumble): I'm so glad you posted the link for Will's place. It seems like there are alot of people interested in visiting this area. I'll be in touch with you in for contact information. Thanks for speaking to Manny about me. It'll be reassuring to have a connection there.

There is so much research to do. I've order Bingham's book, 'The Lost City of the Incas' and hope to have it for my Playa trip in May. When I'm done with it, I'd be happy to pass it on to anyone else that is interested. I've also contacted a couple of tour operators. I'm really impressed by one that is eco friendly and their tours have no more than 8 participants. I've priced plane fare for next May and I'm pleased to find that it is very reasonable. I expected it to be double the cost.

Off to look up more info...

Ok, super jealous here. Someday.

Hey, BTW, I DVR'd the Anthony Bourdain show we were discussing last night and would be happy to shoot it to you via a DVD. PM me if ya want. It was cool, but only the last 1/2 was Machu and his footage wasn't near as mystical as Thor's (no kidding).

PS - Thor, old trip reports of trips to Greece and the lot you mentioned might be read by a peep or two...and appreciated. Ya know...whatever...if you have time.

Yes it is Kodachrome 64. 27 years old. But I did increase the saturation a bit.

I wish it was still available, these days I have to make do with Velvia 50 for my underwater photography.
I came to think of this picture. The first cockroach I killed. I woke up, and it sat on the table by my bed. I used one of my film boxes to show how big it was. This was on a third class hotel in Lima.
