Hey, BTW, I DVR'd the Anthony Bourdain show we were discussing last night and would be happy to shoot it to you via a DVD. PM me if ya want. It was cool, but only the last 1/2 was Machu and his footage wasn't near as mystical as Thor's (no kidding).

PS - Thor, old trip reports of trips to Greece and the lot you mentioned might be read by a peep or two...and appreciated. Ya know...whatever...if you have time.
Thank you for the offer! My DVR caught it and I just watched it!! Gotta say that I was amused by most of the episode. Poor Anthony and his altitude sickness, however the cocoa leaf remedy seemed to help, even if his mouth went numb. Funny how he referred back to his 80's cocaine habit not once, but twice!! I was amused when they showed the locals drinking chicha (?), the really enjoyed themselves. The shots of Machu Picchu were incredible...I'm just sorry they took the train and didn't hike the trail, but it sounds like production made the call. They were concerned about their equipment. Great episode! Certainly helped to whet the appetite more.

Thank you for posting that video! Nice of Machu Picchu. There was not a train like that in 1981 when I was there. And certainly not coming from Quillabamba. I had to take the train together with the locals. No dining, no drinks.

You're welcome. That's a pretty fancy schmancy ride. But, definitely not the experience I'm looking for.
