All I can tell you is that it sounds like the going rate for dolphin encounters in the Florida Keys. I have never actually paid as I have a friend in Key West who does wild dolphin encounters.
For me it was ultimatly more fulfilling as my encounter was with wild dolphins. That they actually showed some interest in me, an intruder in their "living roon" was a real thriill. If I had the choice, I would do a wild dolphin encounter again, knowing that no dolphin was being harmed for my enjoyment. |

I paid $120 at Puerto Aventuras just for the dolphin experience and it was so Totally worth it. I only went because some friends did and man, it has turned out to be the experience of my lifetime so far. I didn't pay the extra for the rest of the stuff, but I've heard from others that they very much enjoyed it.
Hope this helps. |

Yes- I would say so!
Hi
we swam with the dolphins at puerto aventuras in May. We booked in advance offf the dolphin discovery website and I would thoroughly recommend paying the extra and doing the sealife discovery plus program. The swim with the stingrays and manatees was fantastic-IMy husband and I got a guide to ourselves who let us feed and swim with them - there was just the two of us with a trainer feeding Romeo and Juliet - the manatees - we had about 1 hoour in total looking behind the scenes, preparing the meals!! and feeding the stingrays and manatees - we then went on to join the 'crowds' of people who did the dolphin swim. we thought the stingrays and manatees part (which is the extra bit) was a truly magical experience whilst the dolphin swim (which seemed far more 'commercialised') was just a magical experience - Go for the discovery plus it's a once in a lifetime opportunity ! - any questions - let me know and I'll try to answer them! |

Thanks for the info. Gill, looks like the sea life discovery plus program is the way to go. I swam with the dolphins in Cuba and it was amazing, I didn't want to get out of the water. The manatees sound really neat, they look so cuddly.

If this is something you are thinking about doing, than by all means do it. You won't regert it. Take your camera. They take pictures for you and have them for purchase. My son still talks about this 2 years later, asking when we can return. The stingrays are soooo cool. So soft. The manatees are so big and gentle. Something you could not experience if you don;t do this. Plus you learn about them and get to feed them. Oh not putting down the dolphins at all. That was great. |
