MN Walk for Animals/Peanut Pet Shelter recognition

On May 3rd, the MN Animal Humane Society will be doing its annual Walk for Animals. Last year, they raised over a million bucks. There is a walk in St. Paul and a walk in Golden Valley. Corey (Bumble) and I will be attending the walk in Golden Valley with our three dogs and are looking for any peeps that might want to join us. We got the idea that it might be nice to try to get a big group together with the purpose of drawing attention to the Peanut Pet Shelter. We could all wear shirts and carry information. The bigger the group, the more attention we'll get. I believe there is a $50 per person minimum to walk, but the money goes to a great cause and can easily be raised by asking for pledges from friends or family. Hi Sue!!

This is a fantastic idea!! If I weren't going to Playa the following weekend, I'd for sure drive up that way to attend!!

As you know, I'm more than happy to create the tshirts. Andy and I discussed the shirts and I have his 'permission' to use the logo. Jan (himynameisjan) has graciously offered her services in creating a high resolution replica of the logo that I can use on them. As soon as I get this from her, I'll go ahead and create the them. Your team members will have the ability to order any type of shirt, color, and size. You can also order kids sizes in case you want to put them on your furbabies too!

The Walk For Animals here is an event I look forward too almost as much as going to PDC! Last year Sue and I brought our three dogs who are all from the Golden Valley shelter here in Minnesota. Our newest but oldest dog Woody was a staff favorite there as he spent over two months there over the Christmas and New Year's holiday's. He was also a local TV star featured on a "pet of the week" segment on a local news show. We brought him home two days after that show! (I had already fallen in love with him prior to this).

My point is that this event draws attention to ALL animals in shelters looking for a home and as some of you already know, us Minnesota peeps are great in numbers! We could really do some good for the Peanut shelter so please consider this. As Sue stated, this event brought in over 1 million dollars last year and I'm sure many who donated would be MORE than willing to give a little more for another great shelter!

I would also love to see you and your "furbabies" (OK, last year someone had a crocodile

) attend just for the fun! Please say hello if you see the Peanut Shelter shirts on anyone! Even if it's just Sue and myself.

We wish you could attend as well. It's like a HUGE doggie party!!!! Yes people bring all sorts of animals but the dogs outnumber them all tenfold!

Well, folks, we ordered our shirts, even though it appears it will just be me (Sue, posting under Bumble's login), and Corey. We still hope to generate some interest in helping out the wonderful people and animals at the Peanut Pet Shelter. I think it will be a good time!! Especially since Woody isn't even on his arthritis medication anymore and seems to be doing better than ever.
