NewBie Seeking Experts Advice For Honeymoon

Hi Folks,
We are planning to visit Cancun for our Honeymoon on the July 2rd and coming back on July 7th. I know this is less time but thats all vacation we could get. I wanted to have experts advice on what resort to go to and how should we pick one

We want an All Inclusive resort and Adults only Resort. Its peak time and we would like to avoid kids. just quiet romantic quality time....just to be calm and enjoy the company of the other person.......

Please let me know which one's to pick and what rates to expect.....if you cane give me some good websites that would work too

Thanks People......

Cheers,
Amar

Hi there,

I am not familiar with the resorts in Cancun. Playa is about an hour South! I have only stayed in Cancun once & it was over 5 years ago!

Sorry!

I would look into staying In Playa instead. We stayed in Cancun for our honeymoon & it was very very busy!!!! Do you have a travel agent nearby? If you do that may be a good start to pick up some brochures & get prices from your area. Once you get that & narrow it down to a few in your price range & what you are looking for (ie adults only) you might find more people will have info on comparing resorts!

Thanks. What I have learned so far is that on the internet we can get variety of deals and cheap prices. I contacted a couple of travel agents and they were pricing more then websites.

Maybe I will have to look for more Travel agents in the area. what other suggestions you have for me?

I prefer Playa to Cancun. Playa's got more my feel to it... Cancun reminds me of Miami.

I would recommend a Secrets...Secrets Capri or the new Secrets Maroma [supposed to be fantastic beach]. Adults only...small [400 rooms] restaurants are a la carte. Romantic.
check tripadvisor for reviews....I have a detailed review there [tntwalter is username] of Capri if you want to check it out.
Maroma just opened. Capri is 20 minutes from Playa. When we were there we only left once to to on a trip someone in our group planned.
Secrets Resorts & Spas: Unlimited-Luxury.® A new and better way to have it all.
I know there are others...there's one on the tip of my tongue...I'm sure other's will chime in....Aventura palace...those look nice huge but nice...
Official Web Site - THE Royal in Playa del Carmen Hotel this is the Royal that alot of people love..right in town too. Personally I like my hotels smaller.

Here's a great list...this is adults only...some are not AI, you'll be able to tell though but it will give you an idea of what they offer.
PlayaDelCarmen
Congrats and enjoy.

The Royal PDC is fantastic. We stayed there in Feb 2006 & loved it!

Guys I have one more question.....What difference does it make when you book at secrets capri, royal hideaway or at oasis grand? I mean most of the time we would be spending is on beaches, other activities ....or going to clubs in the night....

curious.....

We loved the Royal! Great location and fabulous place. I would definitely chose playa over cancun. Cancun reminds me of Santa Monica with better water. But playa feels like really getting away to mexico

if you are wanting to go to clubs, i would suggest you stay as close to Playa as possible....the Royal PdC would be best, cuz it's in town or the Hideaway ($$$) cuz it's a very short (and cheap) cab ride to town.
The difference between them? The more you pay the better the services, food and booze.
The best beach right now would probably be The Royal PdC

We spent a week here and loved every minute of it. The best part of being at the Royal is that Fifth Avenue is just out the door - so much to do and see, with very little planning required.

The Grand Oasis? That's not adults only and is more of a budget hotel. Nothing like any of the others you have under consideration right now (i.e. Royal Hideaway/Secrets/Royal in PDC, etc).
