Grand Sunset Princess: Villa vs. Platinum suites

Hello

Can anyone speak to the differences between the Villa Laguna Suite vs. the Platinum suite. I have read several reviews on this forum and elsewhere, but am still unsure about which would be more desirable.

As I understand it, the villas: are located near the front of the resort, they do not have a swim up entrance but they do have a private pool, and the rooms are a bit nicer. Is this correct?

Has anyone stayed in the either the platinum or villa suites? If so, would you recommend one over the other??

Thanks in advance.

We just stayed at the Laguna Villas from April 1-7th. I posted my review on Trip Advisor. It was titled "Laguna Villas are the way to go" (or something like that). Check it out!!!

Villas vs Platinum...well, for starters the Villas are at the front of the resort adjacaent to the lobbys, the buffets and 5 of the 7 a la cartes whereas the Platinum is located at the extreme other end of the resort adjacent to the beach and the two other daytime buffets that become the other 2 a la cartes at night. Also, the Villas are small, stand alone structures that house just a few suites in each whereas the Platinum is a standard hotel type structure (two buildings, one on each side...Sunset and Riviera) with many suites on several floors...the Villas also have a private pool...sonofdob.

I would definitely consider Villas over Platinum for adults only. Because you are the highest class of booking, you can hang out at the Plat area if the Villa's pool area is too quiet for you. Plat pool had a lot of kids some days and it's not a big pool. The families got up at the crack of dawn to save the Palapa beds too for the shade for their kids (not saying I blame them!).

A couple of people who commented to me about the kids splashing, received my reply that they should have booked the Villas as Plat is all ages

Plat pool had A LOT of partying and a few families did leave due to bad language and some nudity (man those guys from Florida & Virginia were too funny).

Mucho thanks for the replies. I think the villas are a green light all the way!
