WOW~ that's awesome. We're going in July and I think I heard it's filling up, so chances of a suprise upgrade are probably slim to none. If we do - great! If not, no biggie!

Thanks for all of the posts about GSP!!! It is great to hear good reports... could someone speak to the question about dress code at dinner? Somewhere on another post, I saw something about no sandals -- could this be true?? I am sure that once I arrive, my feet will repel close-toed shoes!! |

Yeah, I wouldn't stress too much about the dress code. We had a strict dress code for the Quetzal and I was down to one pair of shoes, flip flops, because of swelling, and no one ever said anything. I did wear a nice sundress or skirts with my flip flops and it was fine.

As I understand it from previous posts about this resort, it is MEN who cannot wear shorts nor open toed shoes. I assume women shouldn't wear shorts for etiquette reasons, but women can wear open toed shoes. I am going to make sure my husband and son take khaki pants, polo shirt, and closed shoes. Hope this helps!
=========================== Edited after BeachBunny70's comment to add that, yes, this is for the ala carte restaurants. Thanks for the clarification BeachBunny70! Last edited by kc-to-playa : 3 Weeks Ago at 01:22 PM. |

Has anyone noticed the closed toed shoe rule being enforced on boys under age 13? Are dress sandals that have an open toe area acceptable for boys? They are brown sandals...not flip flops. Also, are jeans and tennis shoes acceptable for kids in the ala cartes?
Thanks! |

Konaman thanks for the review. I have not been on here for a few weeks and just now back. Son broke leg and ortho Doc says 8-12 weeks in fulll cast
Bummer since we paid for 10 day stay at the GSP 6/10-6/19 With family from Texas. Any way kc-to-playa just a hello to my neighbor . So did I get this right? You can get free room service in the Jr. suite deluxe now?? Saw it posted here and just wondering?? Also to all who just recently came back.. Are the lines to get the reservation restraunts that bad? I refuse to take hours from my trip to stand in line to reserve, then to have a sit down dinner that will take even more hours to eat because of service. I have been to many AI resorts and know the wait time in the reservation restraunts take a while and most are not worth the time, so just asking?? Thanks KC |

just to clarify...the dress code for the a la cartes state "no shorts, no sandals" for men...( women will be fine in sandals )...from Murfi..."I saw grown men in jeans and tennis shoes in the a la cartes"...again, the policy is "no shorts, no sandals" so this would be acceptable...you will see when you're there though that for the most part people do dress a little more upscale in the a la cartes than the buffets but bear in mind all the restaurants are air conditioned so it's not really an issue...by the way if your just looking for a quick bite like a club sandwich and some fries or something like that and want real casual (shorts and flip flops) you can always check out the sports bar next door to the main buffets, 24 hour service there as well...sonofdob

I hope they still offer the free shuttle to PDC when we're there. I wouldn't mind checking out Cozumel since we still haven't ever seen this island. Any suggestions for great beaches and restaurants to visit in Cozumel? Snorkeling ideas? |
