Can you tell me if I can use a curling iron without having an adapter. I have forgotten if the electric is the same.
Thanks in advance

cruisenut1...yes you can...Mexico, USA and Canada all have electrical systems that operate on 110 - 120 volt / 60 Hz (cycles)...so your curling iron will operate just fine...sonofdob

Hy sondofdob, I had to laugh when I saw you were replying to this one. With no hair of your own, and all. LOL. I just couldn't resist.
I hope things are well with you and Mickey. (HI Mouse!!!)

Will you have kids with you? If so, Paradise Beach is the best! If not, I probably wouldn't go there, although it could still prove to be fun.

How is the beach there???
i am use to the "old" Playacar beach when it had sand(pre sand-whale days) and the Barcelo Maya beach. Would I be disappointed??

Anyone going to GRP June 4-11

Hi everyone, a group of 6 from Staunton Illinois going June 4-11 just wondering if anyone else going during this time also, if so we should meet for a drink sometime.
Also I am a little worried about the Jr Suite being in the LAGOON? Is it worth it to upgrade to a deluxe? I am not too worried about walking, but how far are they from the beach?
Thanks for any or all info!!

It is a pretty far walk because even the Platinum suites are not right on the beach. It would probably take 10 minutes. The only night my husband got bitten was when we sat on the decks over the Lagoon and we are still here now. So I would reccomend upgrading just because you will be more centrally located.

GRP questions anyone there June 4-11?????

Thanks for the info, I think we are going to try and upgrade, I am going to call our travel agent tommorow and see how much it is....I also heard of some people sliding some money to the desk agent and asking for the upgrade and got it, I haven't done this kind of thing before, but am wondering if it would work....
So what is your opinion of the resort since you are there now?
The walk to the beach will be o.k. I just thought by the way I looked at the pics it was like a 30 min walk or something like that!!!!!
THANKS

amberandryan - I just upgraded to a deluxe jr. suite a couple of days ago. My TA booked us through Travel Impressions. Total cost of upgrade for 6 nights, 3 adults & 1 child (me, hubby, 16 yo & 12 yo) was $276.00. We'll be there July 16-22.
After looking at the resort maps that were posted here, I decided it was worth it to be more centrally located plus I didn't want to get my hopes up on the "slipping extra $" (heard that too), because it probably wouldn't work for me, then I'd be totally disappointed!
Before we leave, though, I will send off an email requesting a pool view.

We will be there from June 4th - 10th. It's our first trip to the area. We are booked in a standard suite becuase I wanted to use the extra money to explore the area.
Maybe we will see ya there

Our group will be there June 4-11th. We have 7 teens ages 18 and 19, and around 20 adults from 27 to 50. Our group will probably be around the activity pool all of the time. We will be the ones laughing and having a good time. Come on by and visit with us. Teens probably wont emerge from their rooms until after lunch if I were to guess. I am expecting some very late nights, and alot of fun.
