Rpdc

We are going to be at RPDC starting April 28 for 7 days for Honeymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best room locations or any tips about RPDC.

I"ll try to help, but I don't know what room category your booked in. We went last October and had a Royal Ocean View, room #339. Good location with great view about halfway between beach and lobby. While the resort is great, try to get out and wander down 5th ave. especially in the evening. Walk the beach, both north and south, its beautiful. Have a great time and ask questions if you have more. Also try to do a search on here, many trip reports with pics of the Royal.

Have not been there yet but we are doing the junior suite with the beach front walk out which includes a private cabana. It sounded good to me.... lol

for room locations-totally depends on what catagory you are in. LOTS of posts about good room locations at this resort if you do a search. IMHO-399 (our room when we were there) is the best in the Tulum wing and 355 is the best in Coba wing for oceanview rooms. Make sure you try the Chef's Plate. Enjoy the lobby bar before dinner-such comfy chairs, good drinks, good music and an all around great atmosphere. Tequila Bar is great after dinner-great breezes and open air. Utilize the free spa services. Tip for good service. Know this isn't really a RPDC tip, but enjoy the fact that you are so close to PDC and eat at least 1 dinner out-we went to Babe's and actually had the best dinner and drinks there of our whole trip.

Tacking on to this active thread....

I'm piggybacking on this active thread to ask a different question about RPDC. Did I read somewhere that you can get sunblock and suntain lotion for free at the pool? Deciding how much I need to pack.....

Thanks!

Not sure on selection but the beach butler cart does have sunblock you can use.
We're only bringing a couple things of sunblock. If we run out we can run to playa mart or walmart. I'm already overpacked I think!

yeah, the beach butler has a whole cart full of different sunblocks and even oils etc. And my advice? Listen to his rec on what number sunblock to wear... He recommended a higher block since I had just arrived, and of course, I didn't listen. I ended up well done (blisters and all )

The sun tan lotion on the pool cart is not really a substitute for bringing your own. its really for ...well if you leave your ST lotion in your room and dont want to go back. You should tip him.
Last time I was there he had a variety of ST lotion, books....he's a nice fellow. a Tip now and then will go far (I gave him a NY baseball cap - I have another hat for him (every couple of years I go to www dot hitrunscore dot com and buy a dozen basecall caps ("authentic" major leage replicas. Buy more than 6 of the style I bought and the are just under $7 each). They make GREAT gifts. FYI - if you give a "thing" rather than cash, be sure to give a little note saying that this is a gift from you (put your name).

When choosing rooms I found this map helpful, here is a link to the robino map of the royal that shows room numbers. Thanks to her for putting that on her site. And I also included a picture i saved from the online check in to give you an idea what its like. I hope this helps.
