jslowrider--
What is the email address you sent your request to? I have emailed them several times, with no reply. We will be there June 17th for a return visit. Love it there. But a lil aggrivated that no matter what email address I send to, I have never gotten a reply back.
thanks much!

thanks for the information on sandos. We booked in the 9000 building and we are hoping it is good and quiet. it's our 8th anniversary and i would like to contact the hotel for flowers and maybe to set up a surprise dinner on the beach. does anyone know if they will be discreet about these arrangements and not blow the surprise during checkin?

We are here now and we are in room 2222 and our back door opens to the beach. It is on the ground floor and I would suggest an upper floor room if available. I will say that this is an amazing resort has has the best beach out of all the others right now. Went parisailing the other day and got a good look at all of the other beaches and there is alot of erosion and some has no beach at all.
Tip: Bring lots of smaller bills for tipping.
This place is incredible but cant wait to get home and see the kidos.
Adios, time for more tequilla

Frombe - why would you suggest a higher level if your room opens to the beach? Have a great time!!!!!

Likely human traffic and critters.... You're in a Mexican tropical location, after all...

I was thinking more like musty smell.... Cause I know that the ground floors tend to be more musty smelling. Didn't think of critters!

Actually all those are good reasons too but the ground floor is a little more noise than the upper. I think room service starts at the upper floors and works their way down, so when they are cleaning the room above you the noise starts really early. After a long night of tequilla it is nice to have some time to sleep in.

I just got an email from a friend who is there now. She said the back pool in the new area is NOT adult only even tho on tripadvisor the management from the Sandos said they changed it. She also said the air conditioned buffet is not open and said the reason be being is its not economical??? She said the service is good, the food was good and the beach was great. They had problems with their room, the safe didnt work, and the door wouldnt lock. She said they fixed it the first day. She is doing the Royal cluc thing and said the beach beds are awesome and they are strictly enforcing the area. Were going in August and hope there is an adult pool besides the tiny one there before.

They do let kids in that pool but we saw very few. Most of the kids hung out in the big pool where they did lots of activities for them. We hung out at the back "adult" pool a lot and had no problems with kids. Never really thought we needed A.C. in the buffets because of the constant ocean breeze which kept things nice and cool.
My friend who was there with me had a problem with his phone and A.C. in his room and they fixed it right of way. They really do treat you EXCELLENT there.
We had a Royal Club room and also did the Sandos4You VIP that you can sign up for on thier site and it was worth it.
10% off at the Spa and gift shop and you also don't have to worry about not getting a reservation at one of the Ala Kart rest. because I believe they save a certain number of slots for the "VIP's"
Make sure when checking in that you get the correct color bracelet for your reservation, i.e. Royal Club and or VIP if you have both then you should have a gold bracelet...we learned this 2 days later after sporting around the blue ones.
