we stayed in the Hacienda Suites. They are actually the furtheast from the beach but, they each have their own plunge pools which were great to use when the baby got tired and they were very spacious. We didn't mind hte 5 minute walk however, they always had the golf carts available to come get you.

we stayed in the 8000 bldg last week and we were very happy.granted it was a 5-6 minute walk,or you can take the golf cart.but the rooms are almost brand new, they have there own snack bar and pool.next door is the 9000 bldg and they have a swim up pool bar,and both have there own restaurant.plus they just oopened up a oriental restaurant two days before we left.we went into one of the hacienda suites, and was not impressed at all.if we go back,we will only go to the 8 or 9000 bldg.but we like quiet more than anything else.the front of the resort is not quiet at all.have fun where ever you stay.the resrt is great and a lot of fun!

We just got back from staying in the 9000's and I agree, they're really nice and you have the best of both worlds. The quiet pools, swim-up bar, snack bar and buffet close to your room, or the main campus and beach a quick golf cart ride away. The golf cart drivers are half the fun, actually. We loved the large (2-person) jaccuzzi's and the fact that the 9000 suites are new and ship shape.
That said, if you'd rather be close to the action all the time and be able to pop back into your room from the beach, then the beach-front buildings would be better. I don't see any advantage to the Haciendas except in the case that windex mentioned, where you can pop into the plunge pool while a baby sleeps. Otherwise, they're distant from the main campus without the advantages of the 8000-9000 buildings. Also, some of the Haciendas (6200's and 6400's I think) are right beside the entrance where all the buses, taxis and delivery trucks come in. Avoid those ones for sure. |
