When that goes again the entire midwest can expect some damage, especially St. Louis and Memphis, but as they were saying on the news today, also Chicago and Milwaukee. Not living in an area with frequnt quakes leads us into complacency which will get us into trouble someday ... hopefully not soon. |

I'm in southern Indiana, and the first one this morning, I thought was the cat jumping on the bed and knocking stuff over on the dresser, until my daughter called and said the earthquake woke up her children. (My husband was driving to work and didn't feel it) Then later in the morning, I was visitng an Amish client of mine over in southeastern Illinois -- about 20 miles from the epicenter-- and we were sitting in her living room when the second one hit. THAT one was crazy! First we heard a rumbling, like thunder underground, and the house started to shake. Kinda surreal, actually.

It shook my house and woke us up. I was in a mechanical room in Louisville when the after shock hit about 11 am and didn't feel anything. All the experts say when the big one hits, it could be worse then anything that has happen in California.
