our trip is booked!!

wa hoo!! so excited. we are going from may 5-11. we are staying at the viva wyndham azteca. has anyone stayed there? what are your opinions of it? we went to playa on a cruise, well actually cozumel, but we took the boat over. we did one excursion while in playa, but we want to do something different. what do you suggest? thanks so much!! is anyone going on the same dates as us?

We have stayed at both the Azteca and it's "sister" resort the Maya. We have been there both before and after Wyndham took over. Changes ... NONE.

We enjoyed the hotel. Thought the pool was a little small given the number of guests. You won't be there at peak season so should not be a huge issue. It depends on how many people bring their children and how rude they are allowed to be.

Food is not bad though your missing out if you don't go into town to eat at least once or twice. Rooms are a good size for two people. Quite cramped if planning to have kids in the same room (we made that mistake once). The beds are like sleeping on cement ... mostly because you will be sleeping on cement. This, unfortunately, is not uncommon in the area.

The beach at Azteca was quite nice. You will be able to visit the Maya as well. You can walk there on the beach. Their pool is bigger with a swim up bar. You'll have a greater variety of food between the two places ... also activities. We felt that service at both places was quite good.

yes i have read that at many places the beds arent that comfy

Sometimes the beds have been so bad, and my back hurt so much, that it ruined my trip. And I am pretty young and with no back problems (normally). Other than cost, I have no idea why resorts, condo's, and hotels resort to these horrible matresses ... and then slap them on a slab of CONCRETE! Maybe it is an availability issue.

What we have done if we arrive and the bed is too much for us is to go to Walmart and purchase an air bed. They have a battery operated air pump built in. Did I mention they are CHEAP. OMG

... what a difference they make. Just a little tip.

Of course they have a Walmart in Playa ... and a Sams Club ... and a Staples. It's not like you're going to Puerto Rico or something.

It is on 30th Ave and an easy walk from downtown.

come into Playa on May 10th to Bad Boys on the Beach!!! we've got a HUGE party going on there from 4-8!!! warning...there may be some drinking going on!!!

Frank- we didnt get to far into playa like i said we came in off the tender from cozumel and then we went on a jeep tour so we didnt get to see the city, very much. thanks for the tip, because i love wal-mart

staying in town in playa is awesome. you get to experience so many bars/dining places, etc.

come on to the party on the 10th. Bad Boys is located on the beach between 2nd and 4th street. from 5th avenue, walk on 4th street towards the beach, take a right on the beach and you'll see a pirate flag. live music from 4-8. it's gonna be a great party!!! i'm not too familiar as to where your hotel is other then it being in Playacar. best best...take a taxi into town and have them drop you off as close to 5th Avenue and 4th Street. should only be a minute or two walk.

yes, and those are only the peeps that signed up from this board to be there. it's gonna be PACKED!!

Afternoon A'.
Bought Kristi new luggage last weekend.
Now she's starting to get pumped.

She went and got abunch of stuff for the kiddies
and collars ect. for the shelter.

Breaking out the summer duds this weekend.
Packing not far behind!

Is the peep list getting longer or is it just me?
