those are great ..but you are rite ..how do people come up with these???i wonder what my daughter was thinking to get to the names we have...

Syl, you've just given me a project to do with my 85 year old mama when I go back there in a week... I will sit down with her and we will write down all my uncle's nicknames for people. Her short term memory isn't very good but I bet she remembers every one of those! Thanks!

Oh gosh...my nicknames (people have given me over the years...) BonBon, BoBo, monkey, skinny-bone Jones, freckle-face strawberry, toothpick, Bee, B-dub, Doc (for about 30 years before I ever got the doctorate ), prof (same as before), heyu, bon-bobby-laurie-toodle (my mom strung together her kids' names and included the dog too, sometimes the parakeet) as well as I answer to every one of my 12 cousins names, because my G'ma called us all someone else or a combo of names.

Nicknames I call people: The kids are all 'monkeys.' Then they have their original names...and nicknames
Aubry: Aubs, aubstopper, Brie, monkmonk, sweetie pie, bullinachinashop
Shannon: Shanny, Shanshan, monkey
Micheal: Bud, buddy, buddo, monkey, Mikey
Kittens:
Frodo: fro-fro, kitty-boy
Sam-sammy, sam-sam, samboy, sam the brave, kitty-boy
MikeW-honey

Ever since I can remember, I've always been called 'V'. Pretty self explanatory, I guess. I probably hear people call me 'V' more than my actual name itself.

My chick posse calls me Sassy. I have no clue why My charming brothers called me Arnold (after the pig on Greenacres, and yet I still love them....kindof.

Erik's high school nickname is butter. My posse calls him soulman.

The dogs are by turn; nutjobs, chuckleheads, cheeseheads or dumbshites.

I took the boys flying with me one day when they were in about 5th & 6th grade. They were chattering away on the headsets acting like they were calling each other in different airplanes using made up call signs. I had to make a radio call so I told them to take a break and I'd tell tehm when they could talk again....Just as I key the radio mic to make the call, one of them chimes in with "Buttmunch 1 this is Buttmunch 2..do you read me?"! There was total silence on the radio for a few seconds!
I waited to make my call!

When they were very young, they had trouble pronouncing each other's names...So Matt became "Mapp Mapp" and Grant became "Baby Gant"

My nick, is not printable here!

My family was pretty big on goofy nicknames growing up...My grandpa, a gruff retired Navy man, who we all adored, was pretty much the culprit who got all these things started.

My older sister Kathy was CheeChee, or just Cheech, my older brother Richard was Butch, or Butchie, I was Leenie Beans, my brother Michael was Mickles or Mickleheimer...my cousin Mary Lou will forever be Lulubelle. To this day, we still call each other by these names sometimes. I especially love calling my brother Butchie, because I know he hates it. My mom still calls me Leenie, and I like hearing her say it.

When my baby nieces and nephews came along, they found it hard to say my name, Eileen, so, to them (even the ones that are grown now), I am AuntAhween (all one word)...or just Ahween.

As a child I was ya-ya, my sister was ba-ba. My younger sister was Tick, and the baby of the family didn't have a nickname. My mom was pete, my brother was butch. None of the nicknames resemble our real names.
My kids are JB baby, Ewie, and lukey Dukie. (Josh, Drew & Luc) or when I am mad- Joshua, Drew Joseph, or Lucas.

I have called Mike "Little Darlin'" for years and years ~ since I first met him, I think.... He IS my Darlin', but defintely not so little at 6'3" and 240 pounds! He towers over me (I'm now 5'2" tall) and outweighs me by more than 110 pounds. I NEVER call him by Mike, so sometimes when we're out and about, I notice some strange looks when I address him by that name.
