New mini park on 15th and Juarez
Born from the empty beer cans and dust of the builder's pick up point masquerading as a basketball court... comes a new mini park and adventure playground!
Treehouses, climbing wall, yellow rope rigging draped like a shawl to get your limbs ensnarled in, grass, yes real grass, winding walkways, a sunken seated area for performances or play, and what may be a fountain. The whole end of the block is getting a facelift. Even the small police station on Juarez is having the 'changing rooms' treatment. At present it's gutted, although it's hard to tell as the interior was rather spartan anyway. The buildings on the corner have been demolished to allow for more landscaping creating an enticing entrance to the area from Juarez. Here's a walk through of the nipping and tucking mid operation: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yes, I thought about the yellow rope rigging as well. I did wonder if some poor kid might get his head snarled in there and end up hanging themselves. I am not sure that that is a particularly good idea. ![]() |
