Jayhawk headed to Playa!

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and am taking a trip to Playa in July with my husband, one year old son, parents, sister and her family. I have enjoyed reading all of your advise and look forward to learning as much as I can before we head south.

We are staying at the Sandos Playacar. Any suggestions on room placement? We have a Jr. Suite reserved but am not sure of the 'no bathtub' situation with a one year old.

Also, we will be celebrating our 8th anniversary while there...any recommendations on restaurants in Playa del Carmen?

I stayed there 2 years ago, the only thing I didn't like about the haciendas was how far they are from the restaurants, lobby and pools. However the small pool behind each of the haciendas was handy. That would probably be really nice with a small child. As far as the bathtub, I guess you'll just have to be really creative with the showers.
Hope you have a wonderful time in Playa

I found this, thought it might help. You might also read the trip reports on the Sandos to get more specifics if you haven't already. Just go up under search and you should find all kinds of stuff on it.

Thanks for the map. I think I will need to request a closer hacienda. Have heard all about the new buildings but am not sure if they have jr. suites...
