It's NO Playa, but... Pics from the other side of the Gulf... Mini Trip

I just got back from a "mini trip" to Gulf Shores, AL and thought I would share a few pics of this Gulf Coast town. It's no Playa but it's the view from this side of the Gulf.

My friend Melinda invited me to join her for a "free" trip to chaperone her nephew and 5 or 6 others on their Spring Break!

Free??? gooood...

Teenagers on Spring Break??? hmmmmm...

OK!!! I'm a sucker for a free trip!

Playing in the sand

first morning

love the colors

I love watching these guys

lots of great little shells to be found

It's just not a beach day without a cold one...

showing off

I thought this one was going to join me for a cerveza!

this took me back to our day at El Paraiso... almost...

Not sure if this is unique to the gulf coast. Skimming!

this little fellow was too cute and very curious of me snapping away

Forgot to get the "toes" shot in the Roo; so better late than never! Almost cut them off!

our view of the bay from the balcony

LOVE these colorful adirondacks

another shot of the bay

a nice setup

fun beachhouse colors

I liked our metal fish

The Spring Break '08 Crew!

As we were leaving, I noticed more chairs had been added. I've got to get me some of these!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my view of Gulf Shores, AL. The kids were great! Thank goodness!!! We were only there for the last part of their trip; but I think they had a great time!

If anyone happens to be in this area, I highly recommend the restaurant Cosmos. It's in Orange Beach by The Wharf. Excellent meal and great atmosphere! I was really kicking myself for not taking my camera that night! Cool place!

now if I can only finish my real trip report...

Thankyou Susie! The kids are really a good group. They were so well behaved and didn't push the limits at all like I expected from kids that age!

Yes, I think we take for granted what is right here on the Gulf Coast. The beaches really are beautiful!
