Our camera has a panoramic feature. You take your photos, and each one you try to marry with the one before by looking at the viewfinder matching it to a partial view of previous pic. Then the camera processes/stitches them together. Last edited by playadreaming : 05-03-2008 at 09:55 AM. |

End of Day Seven April 18th
We wanted to have dinner at ******** since we were in Playa last year. We had looked inside, and heard good things. While we were on vacation, there was a daily banner fly from the “blue bird place” and for “Rachel Ray loves Playasia” every afternoon. So were off to ********. I had the kung pao chicken. ![]() Kylee had the sweet and sour chicken ![]() Review: Dinner was delicious. We didn’t try anything exotic, but the food was great. The atmosphere was relaxed with really cool seating and lighting. Our pictures don't do it justice. The only negative was our server. We were ignored most of the evening, and reduced to waving at him as he joked around with other servers in front of the kitchen…and still ignored after he looked at us waving. It was the only time on vacation that we didn’t leave a tip. **Edit** We actually left a $1 tip on our $30 tab so the server would know that we just didn't forget to tip, but he chased us down at the exit and held the check book up with the 10 peso coin on it. He said your change? I thought, is this guy serious? So I picked up the coin, and said thanks as we left. Probably the worst service we'd received in a really long time. That being said, again the food and atmosphere of the restaurant was fine. It was either a really bad night for our server or he’ll be gone before you try it. So we'd say, worth trying once, although we probably wouldn't go back. Anyway, we had a great night out in town. Now back to the hotel for a nightcap, and then to bed. Our ride will be picking us up at 8:30am. Last edited by playadreaming : 4 Weeks Ago at 10:50 PM. |

You'll like the Barcelo. We went years ago (hubby and I, without kids) when it was just the first 2 buildings. Huge beach with plenty of snorkeling areas, plus open areas for swimming. You could walk a long ways in either direction. Nice rooms/staff, etc. Food at buffets was much better than restaurants (first time we'd experienced that). Large selection, nicely prepared. We emailed a few months before arrival and upgraded through the hotel for a Master suite (was $60 more/night for our 7 night stay). Top floor, front and center, 2 rooms, 1.5 baths, jacuzzi, huge balcony. We felt like royalty, and the upgrade was cheaper through the hotel than through the travel agent. The unofficial barcelo site is great with tons of information. This was the first place we always said we'd return to, although we haven't yet. Have a great time there!

loving your report, we stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico, some years back, other than the beach changes (deterioration) and they have added a few restaurants, not much has changed. Paradise remains paradise. The pictures are outstanding. I can't wait to be there in November!
