Hi Joe,
I think you are correct. I don't expect that the travel brochures I have read would omit information like it being a nudist place etc. This hotel is part of the Preferred Hotels and Resorts worldwide and has an excellent rating. It looks really nice from the information I found on their web site, it is also brand new so everything should be top knotch. It is a little cheaper than Royal Hideaway but more expensive then the ASP so I'm trying to decide between the Secrets or the ASP. Have a great day. 8) Lizzie |

This resort is not a nudist resort. They have one in Cancun and the Dominican Republic. I checked the web site. Here is the URL if anyone is interested in reading up on the resorts. www.secretsresorts.com
It looks like a really nice place, especially the beach which is what might be the deciding factor between this resort and Aventura Spa Palace, but it is more expensive. Have a great day. 8) Lizzie |

Hey Lizzie,
Looks beautiful, just remember though that the new resorts (as I'm told by my travel agent) usually takes about a year to "get the kinks" out. For example, the service is not quite there yet, overbooking is a common problem, and food is not usually as good as it will get. The staff is still learning the resort and hiring is not always sorted. This is not to say NOT to go there, just to make sure you have your patience hat on as you will not have any guarantees. But then you never do. It's a higher risk is all. So you have to decide it paying the money is worth it. If it is more expensive than ASP anyway, maybe Royal Hideway might worth checking into instead. |

Hi Tralin,
Good points about a new resort. I still haven't made up my mind, on the one hand the ASP is a safe bet and is cheaper but on the other the beach looks great at the Capri but it is more expensive and I can't afford the Hideaway. TTFN, Lizzie |

How close to Playa Del Carmen?
I am contemplating the same two resorts as Lizzie, Aventura Spa Palace and Secrets Capri. It's for a honeymoon, and we are staying the first few days at Maroma, then the remainder at one of the all inclusives. However, we don't want a $25 cab ride to get to Playa--does anyone know how far these two places are from Playa?
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Secrets--Playa del Carmen
I answered my own question and thought I'd share--according to Secrets reservations, the Secrets Capri is 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen. They don't have any shuttle services that run to the town.
