Job Market

How's the job market in your area? In New Jersey I am hearing more and more about lay offs.

In Cleveland things are great in some areas and bad in others. My husband was layed off, along with all the other 2nd shift people, from the plant he worked at.

We got plenty of jobs in this area - what are you looking for ?
I ran an big ad in the Sunday paper and got 4 resumes. 2 of them had no experience even close to what I was looking for.

We having a boom in our economy here (oil/gas, uranium, potash, and manufacturing) and we having a lot of trouble finding people. Almost every business and company is looking for workers and basically if you have a pulse you can find a job.

Things are great in Austin. C'mon down.

Although, I'm a realtor and things could be better in that area. Homes are selling, and buyers are buying, but it's harder to get loans, and some homes are taking a looooonnnnggggggg time to sell. Mostly starter homes where the buyer market for them can't get a loan.

That's because it is too cold where you are. Seriously though ours is pretty good to and we are having the same problem. Maybe because it is too hot here.

I hope you like it flat and cold.

We're already importing workers like crazy....my company just brought in 50 Ukrainian weldors, and I have heard of lots of others doing the same....the province is recruiting nurses from Singapore. They are even talking about doing some kind of a program to possibly bring in workers from car manufacturing plants that have had layoffs down in Ontario - fly them in for 7 days, them home for 7 type of thing....it's nutty.
