A serious question for those who do not believe in God

i sincerely wish, however, that you would choose to believe that not all christians are rooting for your eternal damnation. i wouldn't wish that on anyone... rather they believe in a hell or not. it's not my place to judge!

I don't think a single christian would ever root for someone to burn in hell. That would be very...unchristian but I do see that the dogma of the religion prescribes nonbelivers, and others known as heretics and heathens, eternal damnation. That is why so many men and woman testify and do mission work. It is out of love and a wish to save the poor non believers and those who have not heard the holy words of the religion.

I try to not take issue or lump one group in with them all because there are vast differences between sects but there are links and truths inherent to the religion of Christianity as a whole and those can be grouped.

I think this thread has run its course. Religion is just such a personal and touchy subject that I don't see how any more good can come out of this thread. These types of discussions always seem to disintegrate into hurt feelings and hostility.

I think I did find an instance of name-calling that I'd missed. Daddy B, please don't call people "saps" because they believe in god.

I can't say I am in a crisis of Faith......maybe because I have never had Faith to begin with...I would say I am in more of a spiritual crisis. I am going to visit the Buddhist temple here in town next week.

I find my strength today from the positive thoughts people have sent me. I am overwhelmed.....You are all amazing & I thank you so much! This will pass....life is hard for everyone at times isn't it? Pre-Vacation blues....I cannot wait to get on that darn airplane! This coming from someone who is afraid to fly too!

Thanks all I feel better.....today is better than yesterday...nowhere to go but up! Love you all!
