Ever get that feeling? The Zone
The one that comes 1 month or 1 week or in my case 9 days until you VAC to a sunny paradise? We had some nice weather here in Minneapolis yesterday, and today its cold, rainy and depressing. Its seems all 8 people going on this upcoming trip are maxed out with work or home projects and just stressed. Suddenly you stop and think. Picture the scene. Electric blue water out the plane window, wheels down. The first smells that hit you with the warm inviting trade winds as you step off the plane.
Palm trees, music, suntan oils and ocean get closer and closer. Well, not sure what everybody else feels pre trip, but I think I just hit the zone this morning. Still have lots to do, but I think somehow a Playa breeze made its way to me as nothing seems all that bad. Hope some of you are feeling that vibe. South of the border in 9! Cheers. |

Yeah, I get that feeling every time I think about going!! You're lucky...it won't be long, now!! I still have 90 something days to wait.
![]() The worst part is that my 11 year old keeps talking about it too, so I'm constantly being reminded!! ![]() |

I get that feeling all the time too, it gets really bad when I know a trip is coming up!
A few weeks ago it was quite warm here in Houston , it was night, I step out onto my back patio and the wind was blowing, the way it blows on the beach in Playa....if you closed your eyes it felt like you were there....![]() |

I know the feeling too!! My boss just got back from Tulum and we were comparing pictures...gave myself goosebumps
When I need a 'fix' I'll grab one of my pareos out the bag, bury my face in it and take a big whiff...smells like sunscreen and sunshine![]() 14 days!!!!!! ![]() |

I've been in that mood lately! We had a huge storm in the night and things are wet and sticky here today. I turned on the SIRIUS Rumbon channel on and pretended I was in Playa for a little while...until the phone rang.
Then it was back to reality for me. Hope y'all have a great trip. I went shopping for some new Playa clothes yesterday...lightweight clothes...paring down for the trip this year! |

It's so funny that you brought this up today! My husband and I were talking about it this morning. During the planning and waiting for the big day to get close we talk incessantly about what we're going to do (or more like what we're NOT going to do). Now that we're within a week from leaving it seems almost surreal. We need to tie up loose ends at work, be sure the house is in order and everyone has instructions...we still need to think about packing....!
And then we calm each other down by talking through sitting under a palapa...having a cold and frosty cocktail...Ahhhhh..... |

![]() The feeling usually starts for me as we are descending. It's ALWAYS a super bumpy ride in over the Yucatan....then it's through the doors of the airport and the blast of hot salty air hits me...I damn near gets tears in my eyes!! ![]() Two weeks to go...my suitcases are sitting in my second bedroom...cats are starting to stress over the sight of them. I pulled out a bunch of clothes and realize that I need to go shopping...some stuff doesn't fit anymore ( in a good way!) ![]() |

The days leading up to leaving are so exciting, I'm sure the people here at work get sick of hearing about it. I wish I could take some(not all
) with me so they would understand what I'm talking about. When we walk out of the double doors at the airport to find our ride a smile hits our face and a cold drink hits our hands. We know were finally there and a huge weight lifts off our shoulders. I hope everyone enjoys their trip, although I think that is a given.![]() |

OMG, I have constant butterflies and giggles thinking about going back. I get so jealous when I read trip reports, my trips can't come soon enough! We have a countdown calendar in our kitchen on a dry erase board that my girls update every morning before breakfast ~ they have it bad too. It's hot here today and getting me in the mood for the sun in Mexico, I wonder if it's too early for margaritas? If I didn't have to drive to two separate soccer practices later, I'd already have cracked open the tequila!

I'm so jealous. I'd much rather go to Playa than Jamaica, but my brother planned this trip for all of us in September. I'm trying to figure out how to do both...don't think it's gonna happen. Next time we plan a vacation for the entire family it had better be Playa!
