Some of my most memorable compliments have been:
By my kids: "When I have children, I will raise them like you raised me." This from teens! (Son had volunteered at a day camp last summer, and daughter has been babysitting "brats" for many years). My father: "I named you well." Not going into details, but everytime I am down, I remember his words and I feel so lucky he had loved and respected me so much. By my husband: Too numerous to mention, but again, being loved and honoured by people I care about so much, means the world to me. I look at him and he does not need any words for me to see in his eyes, he is complimenting me daily for being the wife/person that I am

Have been thinking a lot about this in the past days. The first thing which came to my mind was something a guy in Sardinia said to me many, many years ago: 'Your eyes are the headlights of your face.' Don't remember who said that but it wasn't one of the italians I was in closer contact with.
As far as my parents are concerned I have the same experiences as everyone else: they don't really tell you that they are proud about you. But every now and then when they tell me what their friends have said about my trips or my fotos - then I know that they are proud of me. But I am equally happy with a silent compliment from a colleague of mine in Zurich: for my next trip there he switched a weekly appointment just so we can have lunch together. We've been friends for the past 5 years but he never did that before. |

Jeremy told me I looked hot last night
(ok- he says that all the time- well, not ALL the time, but enough ) Never, ever, ever gets old- remember that, guys (and gals)![]() I'm sure there's something a little more substantial than "hot"- but I'm drawing a blank right now....

I too have been thinking about this question! The best compliment came from my Aunt who recently passed away. She told me I was a great Mom and was raising nice, respectable and caring kids! And I was doing a good job with them!

I would say I feel greatly complimented when I dare show my face on here after many months of being absent
and being told how happy people are to see me. Or if they see me somewhere else...Facebook, or...other places and they say the same thing. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and realize that people do like me for who I am and I must not be that bad of a person.
