Our 7:20am meetup place is:
Java Joe’s Coffee Shop - calle 10 between 5 ave and 10 ave;Across the street from Babe’s Noodles and bar, Playa del Carmen for our Coba Treasures tour---what's the best/easiest/cheapest way to get there that early? Any suggestions? Last edited by llfmpt; 04-28-2008 at 08:13 PM. Reason: cut and paste mess |

Ah, gotcha. Well, in your case you're located North of Playa del Carmen. So then you'll just catch a taxi to Playa del Carmen and tell him to go to Calle 10 between Avenidas 5 and 10. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

We just did this last week. Get to the GRP lobby about 6:45. Tell security to call a taxi for you. The cost is $13-$14 dollars one way. Make sure you tell the driver the street locations, because most don't know where the restaurants or coffee shops are. Our driver let us out at the corner of 10th and 10th.
We were picked up by Eder at 7:30 at Java Joe's. P.S. Hang on tight in those taxis!

We did the Tulum and Beyond Tour - not interested in shopping there. The ruins were hot hot hot and the cenotes were way cool. Lunch was great and the beach was spectacular. A great day all around.

We stayed at the Grand Sunset Princess and did the tulum and beyond tour. We took a taxi there ($12) and we got back early enough that we could have caught the free shuttle back to the hotel, but we opted to do some shopping and just taxi'd back to the hotel.
And Yes, make sure you tell them the street name for when they drop you off. Our taxi driver had no clue what Java Joe's was. I was thankful I had my printed confirmation with me, and I just pointed to it, and he read off the street names, said "si si" and we were there with plenty of time to spare. They have great coffee at Java joe's. I got a hot one, Korey got one of those slushy iced ones. Both were wonderful. Treat yourself while you are there, and then when you get back, stop at Babes for their AWESOME margaritas.

Thanks for the tips on good beverages! Hubby is a coffee addict and I sure like a fancy one here and there, so I will be sure to try out a good frosty one! Hmmm...now what time does the Princess shuttle make its return in the evening....
