Locals - I need a dentist ASAP

I am having a problem with a tooth that needs a root canal. I thought I would be okay, but now am getting swelling in my face and under my eye. I think I need to see a dentist quickly. Can any of you recommend a good one?

Jami, if Dr. Jorge can't fit you in (he has a small office), try Coral Dental Center, they have gotten rave reviews from lots of people I know.

I got an appt with Dr. Jorge for 6pm. I really appreciate the response. They said it was $50 for a root canal

. I think I'll just start going to Dr Jorge for all my visits.

A $50 root canal can be a good or a bad thing

I use more than$50 in drugs alone for mine.

Jami, I don't want to alarm you, but is it possible there was a miscommunication about th 50 usd for a root canal? That's how much a cleaning costs...so I think maybe the root canal would be more.

If you have swelling and pain,

sounds like infection. Freezing does not work if you have an infection. A round of antibotic's may be needed prior to the root canal.

Started Clyndamiacin (sp?) yesterday.

Heather, the front desk person made the appt for me. She said the check up was $20 and the root canal was $50. I guess, I'll be prepared for more, but either way I'm sure it's cheaper then the $1,000 quoted in the US (i don't have dental insurance). So for now I'm taking in my Mexican pain reliever (tequila) and getting ready to head over. Yippe!!!! Never a dull moment when Kevin and I go on vacation

Jorge is one of the best. His office is on 30 Av, corner with 8th St. As you walk south on 30th Av his surgery is either the first or the second door down from the very corner.
