Building 51 is centrally located, more toward the beach. Building 54 is also central, but more toward the lobby and restaurants. 53 is about in the mddle and faces the pool. 52 is in the middle (back side of 53) but faces the Del Mar. Last edited by Shammy; 05-06-2008 at 09:18 AM. |

We stayed in building 53, actually room 5379. It was a perfect location..halfway between the beach and the main buildings. It also overlooked the waterfall into one of the pools. I would ask for a 2nd or 3rd floor room if you don't mind stairs. If you face the pools, you will get a lot of foot traffic if you are out on your patio.

It has been several years since we have gone, but we really enjoyed the Cajun, Gourmet, and Steakhouse. I think we are going to plan a trip there in october for 3-4 nights. You will love the complex. There is so much to do and a lot of variety for food/drinks!

Yes. We were able to make them right away on the day we arrived. Depending on how occupancy you may get your pick of restaurants and times. A few night we cancelled and went to the buffet instead. The buffet at the Paraiso Beach was really nice.

Tappy, it has been a few years since we stayed at the Lindo-
We enjoyed going to each of the resorts. We hopped the golf cart shuttle over to the Maya. We also just rode around one evening after dinner - chatting with a guy from Texas I think. But defintely worth checking out all the archetecture and ambiance. I "heard" the bus to Playa is no more You will absolutely love the Lindo- enjoy- We actually used the pool at the the Del Mar- Loved the scenery better- less concrete- I dont know if the service at the pool would be better at the Lindo though |

The shuttle to Playa is no more.
You can go to the Maya, but there are a few ala carte restaurants and secluded pools you can not use. You can not go to the Grand at all. The shopping center is in front of all the resorts. The disco is there too. There would be a lot of walking if you wanted to check out all the properties, But that's a good way to walk off all the food!

YOu will be sharing all facilities with the Maya with the exception of the Maya gourmet and Japanese restaurants.
The Maya is right across the pool from the Lindo, and the Beach/Del Mar are right behind the Lindo. All four resorts share the same beach. You will have a concierge in your building to make all your dinner reservations for you. If you want a lot of great info and access to the restaurant menus, go to: iberostar-board.com Last edited by Shammy; 05-07-2008 at 08:23 PM. Reason: remove active link |

We were in Building 51 and faced the pool. We wanted to be close to the beach and there was only one building closer.
You actually can get a tour of the Grand if you ask your concierge. That said, having just returned from the Grand - the security is not quite as tight as it was last year in terms of keeping non-Grand guests out. I saw many people, including a teen with her parents, going into the entry of Building #70, which takes them right past the concierge. Check out the Maya bar. There is a cool, huge, hanging snake sculpture. The shopping at the commercial center is nothing to get excited about. But if you don't want to go to 5th Ave. you could find a few gifts. Our favorite ala carte at the Lindo was the Cajun. |
