Sometimes their system goes down, especially true when many people are trying to access it at the same time (like around midnight). Other times they may simply have computer issues. You just have to keep trying until you can get in!

I guess they put you in the oceanfront and bumped my client out of his oceanfront and into an ocean view! I am working on this right now with a whole passle of people, trying to bump him back in, but I am being told the room changes are for one night only - his is anyway, not sure about yours.

Hopefully this is an isolated incident. We're getting very close (and ready) for our trip to RPDC leaving May 31st. Have my fingers crossed.
Also just so I can put these in my records, i've run across many posts about the different naming conventions you may need to try to get logged in. Could someone post the all the ways you may need to use for the online check-in? |

Me and my fiance are going to RPDC for our honeymoon. We've been working with a travel agent for flight and hotel, etc. Will we need to reserve a room online or is that something that the travel agent does? She acted like she would get us a non-smoking, king bed with an ocean view. Can she do that, or is it up to us?

If you have reserved a Oceanview room or higher the room type is up to you when you check-in online. I had some friends who went last year and said when you check-in online you can see what type of beds are in the room (2 doubles or 1 king), and see if the room side is smoking or non-smoking.

Shammy - If you are bumped, is there any type of recourse for getting your money back or at least the difference in cost if you are put into a cheaper room?
Also, I have heard about online check-in that you may have to put both parties first names if there is more than one person in the room |

If you are downgraded to a room type less than what you booked, they will refund the difference - and they have also given spa comps for the inconvenience. Don't know if they do that for all, but that's what they're offering my client IF we can not get him back into the room he booked. At present, we are still working on this.
I can't comment more than I already did with regards to the names and the online check in. All I can additionally say is that my clients have had no trouble entering names and have been able to access the system - when it works that is! |
