My calculations were wrong. We're not 190 usd away from raising enough for three kennels...

We are only 40 usd away!!

This is so exciting!! As soon as we reach the 3 kennel mark, I will do a poll on the blog to choose a group name and Jan the Wonderful will design a logo.

Still have not been able to sort things with the builder..he seems to be avoiding me... i dont think he is prepared to deal with a penny pinching Scotsman

I have decided that due to cost i am going to get block walls built between the pens as seperators, its going to take a bit longer but the actual cost of the galvanised sheeting worked out to over $1000 peso per divider and with 26 of them it would have been too much, i reckon i can get it done with blocks for less than half that cost.
Off to meet a gate builder manana to get a (hopefully) cheap quote

Still trying to get a good price for the land clearing, lots of friends have offered to help (muchos gracias to you all) but the builders killed 5 snakes in there and i dont want to risk anyone getting bitten (not that i have seen any and i am in there every day !! maybe a Mayan joke

So back to work for me, i am clearing the path around the edge which i will cover with gravel, mucho trabajo but at least with the rain its cooler out

I some how can imagine they weren't joking. If I saw 3 snakes in 1.5 years at the IB Tucan property, I am sure there is at least one in there.

Great job Heather!!!

Andy, thanks for the update, I was actually telling one of my friends about the kennels last week. She helped me sell a lot of raffle tickets and I was giving her the update. She too suggested using blocks for the dividers so that it would be cheaper and now you're thinking the same thing. Great minds think alike. Good luck!!

We did it!! Thanks to a couple of fantastic folks, my blog readers have now raised enough money to sponsor 3 kennels!! Plus an extra 100 usd, for a grand total of 1,600 usd!!
