As many of you might know from our posts over the years, we’re cat people. Have been for many years. We’re owned by a pair of cats who have been very good about letting us feed them, and allowing us to live in their house. Here’s a picture of “The Boys.” Rocky is the Maine Coon, and Baylee is the short hair.
Yep, they’re our “family.” But who doesn’t like dogs? Certainly not us. Dogs are great. They just don’t fit with what was, and still is, our lifestyle. So, we’d like to help out. Most of you will know, to your eternal regret, that my greatest vice and compulsion is collecting Hard Rock Café pins. Because of this hobby, I’m always trading and buying and selling junk jewelry from Hard Rock Cafes all over the world. Consequently, I always have spares in my “pinventory.” So, about a week ago, I decided I’d pull some of the traders out of my bags, and list them for sale on E-bay, with the idea that the proceeds would go towards a kennel at the Peanut Pet Shelter. I didn’t mention the plan at the time because I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, and egg on my face is not my favourite look, unless I’ve just finished breakfast at La Cuevo del Chango. Anyway, the auctions all ended this morning. Assuming all the winning bidders pay up as they’ve contracted to, the revenue from the sales will be $447. I’ll take the other $53 out of my pocket, and once the smoke clears and the dust settles, in a week or so, we’ll be sending the $500 to the shelter’s Paypal account. We hope that helps. I’m guessing we should be able to get something like this on the plaque? ![]() Handsome devil, isn’t he? By the way, next time we’re in Playa, we’ll be sure to show up for wash day. I’ll climb into the tub and get a good scrub down, if that’s okay with you. |

Looks like the new shelter will be great! I'm so happy for you Andy & Jen that you will get your home back. You sure do a wonderful thing. I can't wait to see it in November. I'm trying to give a donation, but paypal is down right now, don't worry, I'll check back later

I am pleased to report that I have received more donations from the owners here at the Royal Palms condos this week. I have received another $150 in donations so I will match that and now we are up to $800 Way to go Royal Palms owners. Thank you all!! I am crossing my fingers that we will make enough for 2 kennels.I hope the permit for the kennels doesn't hold things up for too long I hope to come by and see you soon Andy & Jen.
