You might be right, probably are.

Then it has to be NOT a Senator (they have always lost since JFK, but wait all 3 candidates are Senators) or cabinet member, probably a governor. Too bad it can't be Arnie (damn Constitution). Romney might be a good choice. Any better ideas???

Nothing major. He and another man and a woman were all staying together in the very private complex that we were also in. When I introduced myself to him as one of his constituents, I got the impression he was up to something he wished had no witnesses, though I never saw any particularly untoward behavior. I could have totally misinterpreted... They did avoid us from that point forward though.

I agree that Bill Richardson would be a good choice for the Dems. John Edwards wouldn't be bad, either. For the Republicans, I would say Rudy Giulani, I really haven't thought about it too much.

I'm thinkin' McCain will be selecting (or have selected for him) someone from the religious right. Huckabee, Robertson, who knows.

I expect that the religious right is an important part of Republican demographics and the party leaders don't want to face their wrath.

Oh, and super churches have deep pockets.

Same questions for Obama - who and why?

I'm thinking maybe we have this thread, and then we have another for the general election. I think the earlier 2008 one has gotten a little long in the tooth and participation has declined mostly to a handful of Obama supporters.

I hope this one thread will gain broader participation.
McCain should pick a running mate who, when their ages are added together and divided by two, the answer comes out to less than 70.

I know it is unlikely at this point, but I think a Obama/Clinton ticket would do well at the polls.

Point 1: You have to be 35 so the math does not work.

Point 2: It may have worked at some point, but now there is way too much venom flowing.

You could be right, but then again you could be wrong. I do not perceive near the level of venom that you do.

I really can not see Obama and the Clintons cozying up after this bitter a battle.

Though I did root for the Bears the last time they were in the Super Bowl; so you may be right.

I see that too. It may be that it is a result of living/working in a big city/town.
More people talking, so to say

I've changed my mind ... I want Bill Clinton as Veep. I don't really care with which party he signs on. I want to see Bubba try to steal more stuff from the White House.

Coco The Clown. Coz McCain looks dour.

Or, Dan Quayle, he was a good laugh.

A colleague told me he read a think in the Boston Globe suggesting the gov ov PA might be a good VP candidate with Obama - to help get the industrial midwest white vote.

I have not looked for a link.

running mates

I believe John McCain will choose Charlie Crist of Florida, or consider Huckabee to bring back the evangelical vote. Or Haley Barber of Mississippi.
I think that Obama must seriously consider Hillary, as long as he doesn't have to pay off her substantial campaign debt. Or Joe Biden, smart, tough guy who can take on the republicans as a #2.

Ed Rendell

Rendell, as your talking about Roni, certainly would make Pennsylavania a very likely win.
