Bikers, especially Harley Riders...

Is their a good reason to rev your engine more than once to get it going, or is it merely to irritate people?

Well, as for my old '86 sporty...it's due to the carb needing a little help...getting things flowin....

Seems like if they can afford a Harley, they could afford a more effective muffler too.

Actually there is some truth to that on the freeway, but not in my neighbors driveway.

Also not signalling a right turn when you intend to go straight. I will never know why I didn't believe (and squish) him

Yes, and it also cleans the carb(s) and circulates the oil etc. It's not good to start up any vehicle, including a Harley and just take off. Shifting sucks unless your motion lotion is moving.

Tell the poseurs to get well engineered German or Japanese motorbikes.

Problem solved. Next!

LOL! I whole heartedly agree! I had a Ducati and now own a Kawai and have never had to 'rev' up the engine to warm it up -- in fact, you shouldn't rev it over and over again...just let it idle to warm it up!

(oh, and before i get poopy from the HD riders - I have loads of friends who ride pigs...I mean hogs!! )
