Man I try so hard to live in the moment, but it is human nature to rush so many things. Weird how I think my blog helps me with that. Both because I'll have a record of specific events and because sometimes when the event is happening, I really pay attention to the details so I can encapsulate it later in the blog. It even helps me remember to use my camera more often.

My kids and hubby are making me brekkie, then they're fixing up a real feast for dinner. Chose not to go out to eat because restaurants are packed today. Going to enjoy my lazy day.

What are our Playa mums doing today?

If you're a single dad out there trying to be both mother & father, "Happy Mother's day to you!"

Happy Mother's Day all you Mom's. I took the day off today, taking my Mom out to lunch and Pat out to dinner tonight. Plus I took a rose to Pat at work this morning. What a guy!

I remember as a young girl how I enjoyed Mother's Day.. I could hardly wait to give my Mom the card I had made at School..
We always spent Mothers Day celebrating at my grandparents home..
My Mother passed away in the late 1980's
Mothers Day changed for me after that... For those that have lost their Mom you understand that Mothers day is not an easy day..

Today I honor my Mother and Grandmother. I miss them both lots but... I am thankful for wonderful memories and think of the happy times...

I remember every moment of the days when I became a Mother to my 4 children.....

Happy Mothers Day...

When God Created Mothers
by Erma Bombeck

When the good Lord was creating mothers He was into His sixth day of
"overtime" when the angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling
around this one."

And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order? She has to be
completely washable, but not plastic; Have 180 moveable parts... all
replaceable; Run on black coffee and leftovers; Have a lap that disappears
when she stands up; A kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a
disappointed love affair; And six pairs of hands."

The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way."

"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord. "It's the
three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."

"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.

The Lord nodded. "One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks,
"What are you kids doing in there?" when she already knows. Another here in
the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know,
and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs
up and say, "I understand and I Love You" without so much as uttering a
word."

"Lord", said the angel, toughing His sleeve gently, "Come to bed.
Tomorrow..."

"I can't," said the Lord, "I'm so close to creating something so close to
myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick... can feed a
family of six on one pound of hamburger... and can get a nine-year-old to
stand under a shower."

The angel circled the model of a mother very slowly. "It's too soft," she
sighed.

"But tough!" said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this mother
can do or endure."

"Can it think?"

"Not only think, but it can reason and compromise," said the Creator.

Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a
leak," she pronounced. "I told You. You were trying to put too much into
this model."

"It's not a leak," said the Lord, "it's a tear."

"What's it for?"

"It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness and pride."

"You are a genius," said the angel.

The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there."

I cooked cause my mother-in-law didn't feel ups to going out to dinner plus Vanessa e(Lolabella) and my son Ben took me out to dinner on Monday. It was nice - I knew I was going to have a good meal. We had caesar salad (I make the best caesar dressing), Beef Tenderloin with Bernaise Sauce, 3 cheese potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, corn, rolls, black olives and rubarb cake for dessert. I hope everyone's meal was as good as mine.

Your meal sounds fabulous! Did you really say black olives and rhubarb cake?

One of the hardest days and months I have to get thru. My mom died 3 years ago after only a 2 month diagnosis. The month of May 2005 is simply a blur for me. I go thru the motions for my kids when all I want is the day to go away.
However this year was spent with a good friend, good wine and good lobster. I tried to remember the good times. She would want me to. Thanks RM for getting me thru what has been a difficult day.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's........

I know the feeling, but it's for my father who passed away July 2nd, 2005. I am glad you tried to get through the day, and thanks for wishing us all a happy day. You're sweet
