Grand Riviera Princess June 4-11? Anyone
Hi there, just wondering if anyone is going to the Grand Riviera Princess Resort June 4-11. We will be traveling from Illinois with a group of 6, needing nice sunny rain-free wheather!!! I feel like I am going to float away sometimes here, it' sooo wet.... Anyway if you are traveling during this time, I would love to exchange information we may all have about this resort or excursions around the resort, or other things to do.Thanks, Amber

Traveling to GRP June 4-11 Anyone??
Sound great, we'll have to meet at one of the bars for a drink. What type accomadations do you have? We are staying in a Jr. Suite but are thinking of upgrading to a deluxe w/ swim out if available. What part of Illinois are you from? We live in Staunton Illinois, it is midway between St. Louis and Springfield, IL. on I-55, I grew up in the city but moved to this small country town and then met my husband so stayed here, a great place to raise children.

This looks like the perfect June vacation thread. Our group of 27 will be there June 4th through the 11th. We are mostly booked in just the regular suites. We might try the upgrade at the desk method, but it won't be a tragedy if we don't get it. We never seem to stay long in the room anyway. Hope to see everyone there with their favorite drink in their hand.

GRP JUne 4-11 anyone??
Hi Patty, Hildy, texaslusmexico, and Linnysue,
We all should try to meet up on the eve of the 5th by the main pool bar, let me know if this sounds good...Maybe before dinner or after or both, we know we have to drink our share since its all inclusive right??? This is our first all inclusive vac. and our 1st time to Mexico also...Our friends tell us you have to drink your share to make it a vacation worth while, though I don't think it will be a problem. We are in the standard suite as well, though have thought about trying the desk method for the deluxe rooms, has anyone heard of anyone getting it this way? If so how much did they slide them? We are upgraded to the Deluxe Jr. Suite and I have thought of using this "desk" method for an upgrade to a swimout pool room. I didn't see that upgrade option on funjet, so not sure what my options would be on how to try and get one. Suggestions, anyone? If I don't get a swim out pool room then I would want to be on the third floor.

grp june 4-11? Upgrades
I just spoke w/ my TA and she said, WOW did we get a deal @ first since we booked in Nov. last year before it was even open...She said to upgrade would be 810.00 for the week so we are NOT upgrading right now, I still might try the desk method, but am just curious how much to slip the clerk? I agree with your 3rd floor option, she also told me that price was only for the JR suite standard deluxe room, the swim-out option was all booked!

We are booked into a Platinum Suite. Hope that it is worth the extra! I was born in Belleville and my mother is from a small town in Southern Illinois called Valier. |

I bet the Plat. will be great it's right by the beach which is going to be wonderful...Still try to come around our neck of the woods on the eve of the 5th by the main pool bar area. Belleville is only about 40 min from Staunton, I was actually there today in O'Fallon for some shopping, the doctor I work for is on vac. and I didn't have patents today so I took the day off for some VACATION shopping, which is always the FUN shopping to do, even though it rained again today, I cant believe the rain around here, we are going to float away I am SOO ready for the sun and hot weather...

Amber,
We will certainly try to meet up with you. We arrive on the 5th and hopefully the flight will be on time so that we can be there in time to do that. I can't wait to be in the sun. We have had the same rain as you all, just a day or so later! I haven't had a chance to do any vacation shopping because between my job and our youngest daughter graduating from VA Tech this past weekend I have been crazy busy. Patty |
