Mexicana Air
We are planning our trip to the royal playa del carmen in October. the other night I was checking prices and ran across mexicana air. I don't understand why there is a HUGE price difference. thru travelocity same dates, flight and room are running about 1900.00, while thru mexicana air it's 1300.00 (pp of course). I am ready to book thru them, but want to know if this is a bad airline or a scam or something. I don't want to book then get to the hotel to find we have no room. any help on this airline would be appreciated. thanks

I have flown them years ago and they were awesome. I am flying them again next week, they are the cheapest flight out of western canada right now.....I don't know where you're flying from but I am hoping that is for an AI as well for that price.

Its a great airline!
They have a partnership with AA, and a good chance some of the flight will be with them We booked them in July of 06, Cancun to Vegas We flew AA Cancun/Dallas/Vegas on AA the return flight was on Mexicana Vegas/Mexico city/Cancun, and really preferred the Mexicana over AA |

I just returned from a PdC trip with 2 legs of the trip with Mexicana. Didn't have a problem, THIS TIME. About 4 years ago, Mexicana jacked me around with flight changes, leaving me with 10 to 12 hour layovers in Mexico City. At the time, I swore I'd never fly Mexicana again, but I did recently because of flight prices. The most recent trip had a stopover in Miami on the way down, and a stopover in LA on the way back. In the future, it's Frontier non-stop for me, no matter what the cost.

We used them too back in March. The free drinks includes alcohol too! Plus if you aren't connected on a AA flight you can have about 130 lbs of luggage in 2 bags. You can't be connecting on a AA flight though since they still have the 50 lbs rules.
