LinnySue-

Unless you payed for travel insurance that protects from price change, I don't think they will honor the difference. We had a similiar situation with our trip.

After we booked in Jan for our April vacation with worryfree, the price dropped quite a bit. Since we didn't buy the travel insurance with price protection, we couldn't just cancel and buy at the new price without penalties. However, we switched resorts and upgraded class of room for only $64 more (since the price had dropped.) We could have also just upgraded room category at the same resort originally booked without penalty as well, but decided to switch.

Seems that you could do the same with funjet. If you tell them you want same flights, just want to switch resorts. Maybe you'll have to upgrade room category, but with price drop it may not cost you any more. I would just call and ask for their policy on switching.

Anyway, hope you have a great vacation where ever you stay

sorry, not to hijack the original beer question, which does seem odd...but c'mon now people...prices fluctuate...if you bought an item at a retail store and then saw it on sale a week later would you go in and ask for a refund on the difference ? sonofdob.

Yes I would, in Canada most major retailers have price protection if a price drops with in 14 to 30 days you just bring in your receipt and they will do a price adjustment
al dollar saved is a dollar towards my next trip

I agree. Most major stores in US offer a 30day price reduction return. I have never hesitated to use it. I also think the issue here is not hoping for a bargain (although that is always nice), but wanting to change hotels due to poor reviews and not wanting to spend more than budget allows. I say keep bugging FUNJET and talk to a supervisor if necessary. I have a feeling they are getting many requests for this particular resort. I don't think they would want to lose your business.
Back to beer issue. Someone on TA reported reading an article that the price of HOPS has gone up considerably creating a beer shortage. Still seems odd that this is the only resort with this problem.
FYI. We always get the trip insurance with Funjet.

Seems to me everybody is focusing on a few negative reviews. If you go to TA the hotel has been getting more 5 star reviews than ever. And the whole warm beer thing seemed to be at the beach and mostly the first day or two they ran out of tap.
I'll be there on the ground in less than 48 hours and I have no regrets and I'm sure I'll have a great time! I don't expect things to be perfect and I'll adapt before I freak out.

YES, I do this all the time, even months later when the price drops

Im with you sonofdob. If I buy something I never expect to get the sale price a few weeks later. I have worked in retail since I was in high school, and I have never given someone a refund because the item went on sale after they bought it...I have also never been asked to do that.

Linnysue,
AVOK insurance is always what I purchase through Apple. Anyway ,I think you are freaking out too much about your vacation. Relax, and enjoy. I have been to many AI resorts Riu, Iberostar, Sandos, Barcelo,Bahia, Sandals, plus a few others in between.. I can complain about every single one of them for whatever?? But do not.. Come on ,this is an All Inclusive resort in Mexico!! Grand? yes.. Just like all of the others. A lot of money? Yes, but really put down in terms I pay only $900 per person to this place in 3 weeks for everything including air, taxes , transfers,etc... You CAN NOT do this In Florida or California, anywhere for that price including everything .I am staying for 10 days and can not wait.. I know what to expect and it will be awesome. Most likely see you there, Hey I'll even buy a drink for your 30th anniversary.. lol

Naw, not really that worried, and thanks for the thoughts. When I gave it some more thought, I just couldn't even believe some of the things that are being complained about. Really, the buildings are too white?! Give me a break.
Yes, this vacation that includes everything is very reasonable. I could not find this price for anywhere else. Wow, the prices you paid are unbelievable.

I am paying $159 more for this same package. I want them to refund the difference since now they are offering the same package without having to pay for the room upgrade. I do not want them to change the flights. They will not refund the difference. When I went to book them originally, the price was changing every few seconds, and I could not get the lower price on their website to remain stable. This is when I called them directly to make the reservation, and they would not honor the lower price.
No, you can't get a price adjustment if you don't have their insurance, and you can't get a price adjustment if you have scheduled air even WITH insurance - it's only available on chartered air (I don't know which you have). But you should be able to switch hotels even without insurance, and just pay the difference between the land price of the old reservation and the land price of the new one. That's how it's always worked when I have done it for clients - and i have switched people out of the GP to other resorts recently.

FYI, someone currently at the resort is reporting that the problem was with the lines, they were fixed yesterday and the taps should be flowing sometime today. They're staying in a Laguna Villa and are extremely pleased with the resort.

I was reading some of the new reviews on TA last night, and they all seemed to be great. I only read a couple in the past week that said they didnt enjoy their stay.

I cant seem to find the post that you are reffering to. Im assuming it was on TA, but I didnt see any new ones on the first couple of pages. Could you give me the title of the thread...or a link? I havnt came by many reviews of the Laguna Villas, so Im curious as to what they have to say about them. Thanks ahead of time.
