GSP. Ever heard of a Resort running out of draft beer?
Seems to be the case with some of the most recent reports coming from another site on the Grand Riviera/Sunset Princess. Some say they've been out for days and have resorted to serving only (barely cool) cans of Modelo. Can anyone verify this?
If true any thoughts on why this may be? Can't be a financial decision since draft beer is considerably cheaper than cans. Thanks!! -Brugal |

Just got back Saturday from GSP but I don't drink beer so can't comment on that but I know they ran out of towels, ice and guacamole. So it would not surprise me. I do not think they know how to handle that many peope yet.

Oh dear, I really hope our stay there isn't going to be a bummer. I really wanted it to be very special as this is our 30th wedding anniversary trip. Maybe I should lower my expectations regarding the GRP.
Sounds like they don't have good management there yet. I hope they get their act together in another month. |

Well most of the problems seem to arise when the resort is at or close to full occupancy. Indications from what I'm reading are that's the case right now. Even so, almost everyone is saying the resort is beautiful and they are still having a great time.
But this beer situation is very perplexing. I've been traveling to A/I's for years now and this is the first time I've heard anything like it. -Brugal |

I would definitely do that. This resort just seems to deal with quite a few inconsistencies. Going with high expectations may result in disappointment. Going with marginal expectations will result in fewer surprises. Just make adjustments and it'll all work out I guess.
And I know you were trying to decide on a resort change...my 2 cents, I would have (or would) switched, there's still time. ![]() |

I can't imagine that the entire resort ran out of draft beer, that sounds way odd to me. If they did, I would also imagine it would have been rectified rather quickly. Remember, you can't believe everything you read/hear!

I would love for it to turn out that someone was pulling a fast one but at first glance it doesn't appear to be. -Brugal |

Ok, I just confirmed it with my husband because he was ordering Corona on tap occasionally and he said midway through our vacation they did run out of beer on tap. So May 6th is probably about right. So sadly it is true! Only cans were available after that.

Thanks for the confirmation dezere. It just doesn't make sense though. How can they go a week without any draft beer? People can put up with a lot of stuff but start messing with something as basic as someones cold draft beer and make them drink cool/warm cans and you're just asking for trouble. I'm sure it will be resolved shortly but I'm still shocked it happened to begin with, especially for the past 7 days. -Brugal |

My dad was really ticked off at a lot of things on the trip and midway through it he went to see the hotel manager, who was not there at the time, apparently he was in Cancun, so he talked to the person next in charge and they had a notebook and wrote down everything he complained about. They took his room number and said they would call him that evening. Well, he never got a call from anyone. I think in the US you would expect the manager to do something but I figured in Mexico nothing would happen and it didn't. I really think that is where this hotel is lacking, management.
