I hear you Jan. It just plain sucks. We got airfare for January and then for February and yes it was high, but I figure it will only go higher
. I would be heartbroken if the flight got sold out. I found January to be much cheaper than Feb, though. There's also the option of the bargain airline that maybe isn't out yet........Spirit, Jetblue......not sure if they fly out of your area, just a thought. Yes, we bit the bullet.......and nearly choked! ![]() |

I "chose" precios en dolores. After hitting buscar, it stated precio total 2008.58 USD. If it was pesos, I would buy it in a heartbeat. If you throw in fuel from Houston and a hotel room for 1-2 nights in Austin, it is waaaay too expensive. I gotta keep lookin for a flight. We can always maybe use miles on Continential--man I spend way too much on my credit card. But it does get me free flights and upgrades to first class. As a last resort, we can always non-rev. It is just more difficult now that we have the baby.
Scott, sorry we are going to miss the Regatta again. Going to be in Playa. |

hey, with the price of oil so unstable, we might be lucky to find any airline at all who is still operating to take us there for any amount at all. If you can lock in any price at all right now, it might be a bargain. At the rate we're goin', a ticket for $2,000 ea from US anywhere will be a bargain!!!

We haven't made an "official" countdown yet, but I think our dates are Jan 17th-Feb 1, and Feb 12-Feb 22! ![]() ![]() I may even be co-hosting my first peep meet with none other than Mezcalina! She is a riot and I know it would be a blast. She'll be posting a thread when the dates are closer, but I sure hope to see you at our "Stick meet"! I'm so excited to finally have plans for Playa! And finally Jan.......our dates coincide! ![]() |

[quote=Annabelle;1122362]hey, with the price of oil so unstable [quote]
I don't think that the price of a barrel of oil (gas) is really that unstable as the price continues to spiral upwards. As the price of jet fuel continues upward, I am sure the price charged for airline tickets will continue upwards also. So, not unless you can find a promotional deal or a "last minute" available seat, everyone will be paying more for airline tickets. Solution for me was to move to Playa . I checked gas prices several weeks ago here (in Playa) and it was about $2.50 USD per gallon for regular unleaded. Pretty darn good, especially since one of my cars (Ford Excursion) holds 44 gallons of gas! Unfortuneately, my FJ Cruiser uses premium gas and that is quite a bit more here - over $3.00 USD per gallon, but that is well over a dollar cheaper than US price for premium . |
