I go with Leon.
For whatever reason, Dos Equis amber (dark) is not carried in a bunch of places -- they only have the lighter lager.

I am a Guinness gal (good old Irish in me!) and hubby loves New Castle, we usually have those in the fridge (along with the Corona light during the summer). We have only found Sol (years ago) and now Dos Equis at the El Dorado Seaside Suites during our 7 past visits...maybe the El Dorado Maroma will have something a bit more...well, beer like! Anyway, a really cold beer on a really wonderful beach - can't complain no matter what the beer is!

Discerning palate?

I wouldn't really consider Newcastle that complex of a beer. As far as Brown Ales go it is pretty pedestrian. If you want a real Brown Ale, I'd suggest Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. Also, as many have already stated, Negra Modelo is a suitable dark beer and it has a good amount of toasted malt flavor, especially for a mexican beer.

Can you get Casta in PDC? I have had the premium and I know that they have several more varieties that I would like to try.
