Just purchased tix for 8 nights! No more AI!
So I talked my husband in returning LOL for our 5th visit to Playa. Don't know where we're staying yet but it will be downtown and not an AI. This will be our first time getting away from the All inclusive. Very excited!!! Will be there July 25-Aug 2.

You will love the non AI as we do. Lots of fun exploring the different places to eat, the corner ice cream places. Very relaxing making your own drinks or enjoying a bottle of wine hanging at the hotel. Take walks in different areas, jump on the bus to see where it takes you, etc! Of course we have cooking facilities at our hotel and I love to cook so love the local fruit markets. And we love the beach of course but there is more to Mexico than the beach!
Enjoy! |

Yes. We have found that we love so much about the area we don't want to limit ourselves anymore. We are waiting to see if any other couples are joining us so we can get a condo or house. I haven't seen much of the beaches in Playa besides Playacar.

We're gonna have a few days of overlap, so let me know if you want a bit of a non-AI, non-tourist area food tour!!! I'm leaving Playa on the 29th. |

after haning out on this board a bit, i think the next time we go we will do the same thing. I never would have considered it before but reading all the TR's makes me think we are missing out on the local flavor big time! we already have an AI booked for Nov...but I am sure I will be ready to go back asap!

Congrats Blondy!!
![]() ![]() It's a whole different world.........going non AI. We'd never go back to it........unless of course it was a deal we couldn't pass up. Love the drinks, the food, and the people.......all in town. We spent most of our time there anyhow and wasted our money staying AI in my opinion. Once we knew our way around town and where to eat and drink, staying in town just seemed "the thing to do". Have a blast!!

You will love it and it will force you to try out so many wonderful experiences that are available to you in the Yucatan. You may never want to return to another AI again! I've never been to one and can't think of a thing I'd be missing! Have a fantastic time blondy!

Thanks
I really hope some friends join us or that may rule out a condo for 2. We really want to have access to kitchen "stuff" so we don't need to eat every meal out. We're going cause we need a vacation. We really can't splurge on every meal.
