We went in February and it was REALLY HOT !
(and I am used to hot and humid where I live ) !
I would not dream of going in July or August ...but that is just me and I am a wimp.

But if you do the YucaTrek Tour w/Mitch you get to cool off at the beautiful cenote after your visit - so that would make it sweet !!!

Very well put, Anna!!

I wouldn't let the time of year keep you from going. David and I saw C.I. in May 2005, and it was absolutely AMAZING. Hot? Yes. But sooooo amazing.

Don't miss out on the opportunity because of the temperature. Stay hydrated, take it slow, and you'll survive. And you'll be amazed too.

We'll be there June 14 (then to cenote, then Valladolid for the night). Sure it will be hot, but that will be a nice break from the 40's of last night! We plan to bring a small cooler with drinks, get there early and savor the heat.

If you can do so get there early , like just when it opens at 8:30am. We did and it was a great place to be until about 11:30 when the crowds get really bad. Plus if you get there early the vendors are not all set up yet. We had very few people for the firts 3 hours and then when we left I counted over 35 tour buses. Definately a must see once in a lifetime.

We'll definetly do the Yucatreks tour to Chichen. There's no other way for us to go. Mitch always provides the best tours! The cooler idea is great. Thanks for the advice. We've done Coba and Tulum now twice.

We made the journey in mid-July one year. It was indeed HOT. But there were opportunities to rest under the shade of trees. I took advantage of every one of them! The advice to get there early is great - of course that depends on your tour guide - but if you have any choice in the matter go for as early as possible. Don't decide not to go just because of the heat, though. It's soooo worth it.
