Palladium Grant or Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar?Rieviera Maya

I am unable to decide which place to stay in November. We have two boys--one year and three years.

Pallaium's Jr. Suites or Iberostar Del Mar standard room. Extra space sounds good but IDM has all the good news. If we stay at Pallaium, can I request to stay at Colonial (thru Apple)? It's just rooms look nicer than Kantenah to me. Or it really no difference?

My eyes are so tired from searching information. I need to end this and make a decision. Thank you!

Sabe,
I send more clients with children to the Palladium. One reason is they have a wonderful kids program, however, you're two guys are too young to utilize it (ages 4-12). Another reason is the size of the resort. It's quite compact, easy to reach everything, yet doesn't feel that way. The Iberostar is quite the opposite...VERY large, although they do have a tram that takes you from place to place. The pool is far from the beach, the room is far from the pool AND the beach, etc. Carting around two small children can be difficult and to me, the smaller the resort, the better. Palladium is more family oriented as well. Lots of children for your boys to play with. Not that the Iberostar isn't family oriented, there will be children there, but it's a tad more upscale and therefore attracts more adults without children than families.
Food is great at both resorts and the rooms are also very nice. Having a junior suite with a little more space certainly can't hurt but a regular room is usually sufficiently sized for a family of 4. Apple does book both sides of the Palladium but I do see more clients going to the Kantenah side.
When someone asks me for a certain side (not many do), I always note it when I make the reservation. I also tell the client to e mail the resort with their request a week or two before they arrive. But nothing is ever guaranteed. Another thing to do is find out which side you are located in at check in and mention that you would really like to be located on the Colional side if at all possible. A friendly tone and a smile will many times get you a long way! But honestly, both sides are lovely and it really does make very little difference.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if it were me, I'd go with the Palladium and the junior suite but the Iberostar does run a close second.
Hopefully, I didn't confuse you more!
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Shammy,
Thank you so much for your input. Palladium sounds great for family vacations. I cannot wait to be there.
