But hey, that wall at the Tucan/Quetzal looks pretty darn good - compared to the cliff that was there before! Have to look on the bright side when Mother Nature isn't cooperating!

Great pictures, I think this area looks better than the last time I saw it in March.

Thanks for the great pictures! The wall is nice, but no where near the green grass that was there in October when we were there! With that said, we would still go back to this resort. We weren't there for the grass!!

From what I observed, they will probably be placing a small grassy strip directly in front of building #20.

Going back to the Tequila! Most excellent! They are closing down at the beginning of August for a multimillion-dollar renovation, and reopening some time in December. I can't wait to go back to see what they did to improve on darned near perfect...

Beaches

I was at the Riu Playacar in November of 2003 and the pics I seen on this thread look completely different. The beaches in 2003 were absolutely beautiful, no sandbags whatsoever. What is causing the errosion problems? If its been previous hurricanes, shouldn't that be a temporary problem? Rising sea waters?

It was dicussed in the following thread:

http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...zal-tucan.html

The beaches in Cancun are getting bad as well. My brother was there in April and couldn't believe the difference from when we were there in 2005...
