Hello to All from Los Angeles

Hello to all,
I am from Los Angeles and this will be my fourth trip to the area. the past three times have been in Cancun, and this will be the first in Playa.
We will be staying at the Mayan Palace from 08/08 - 08/15.
Anyone has some recent reviews on the place?
And yes I have been to tripadvisor already.
