She is going to visit family and friends in the midwest. I am going to powerwash and paint the deck and powerwash one side of the house (we are going to paint the house this summer also). Gotta start getting everything all spiffy. I love vacation

Our only vacation is the one we take in Playa. Gotta recharge the batteries. Renting an apartment at Mom's for a month....figure staying longer will save us money. Won't be spending much time at the beach clubs though.....getting too spendy. Of course that doesn't include Bad Boys thursday and saturday afternons.

Oh, I totally agree with this article. I'd sell my car before I gave up my vacation! In fact, I'd love to sell my car and get a small little junker so I can have more money for vacation! New clothes? Nope. New shoes? No, thanks. Groceries? maybe just raman noodles...I need to go on vacation!!
We just got back from PDC in Sunday and are already planning on going again in November. I can cut back on plenty of stuff to pull it off without having to charge it. Economy be damned...I need vacation! |

My boss was talking to me the other day - she knows about my early retirement plans. Anyway she says - you know, you don't golf, you don't have a boat, you don't have horses - the only thing I have ever seen you buy for yourself is your iPhone - may as well buy another one.
I do have hobbies though, one is getting ready for to leave the work-a-day world and the other is investing. I guess that would seem odd to some people, so I mostly keep it to myself and then that poor woman I am married to has to listen to it also - but she is pretty supportive as long as we get to go to Mexico for a couple of weeks every couple of years or so. |

I too will sacrifice a lot before I give up vacations. OR our plans to retire young, for that matter.
Once you have been bitten by the travel bug, it's hard to stop. ![]() My husband on the other hand, likes his beach trips once a year but his toys are important to him too. I will just go without him sometimes.... separate bank accounts can be a good thing.
