Aventura Spa Palace Question

For the many of you who have been to the ASP - Did any of you actually use the public beach in Puerto Aventuras? I understand that it is located at the Omni Puerto Aventuras. Does it get too crowded where you cannot find a lounge chair? Or perhaps this isn't even the public beach. Just wanting to know as a back up if "lagoon" setting at ASP is not appealing. Thanks.

Hi,
Not sure about that particular beach but 2 of the prettiest beaches I saw were in Akumal and near the ferry dock in Playa del Carmen. The lagoon at ASP is very nice, I'm sure you'll like it. It's very pretty but no waves. Have fun!

A lot depends on when you go. We went to ASP last November and walked over to Puerto Aventuras to check out the beach and the sites. The beach behind the OMNI is very nice and the day we were there we didn't see many people taking advantage of it. The lagoon last year was a bit rocky, however, on the last day we were there they were bringing in tons of fresh sand. A lot of the beaches last year suffered a loss of sand due to hurricane Isadore (I think that's what her name was???) Even though the beach at ASP is located in a lagoon is still is affected by tides, etc.

We also made several day trips to PDC by way of the collectivo taxi system (do a search on "collectivos" at this site to get more information) and took in the sights and sounds of the beaches there. Our favorite was the beach at Mamita Beach Club at the north end of PDC. Great food and atmosphere.
