I dont think it is the resort that rents them, I think it is another company that just works out of the resort. But, I may be mistaken.

I think you're right - that's usually how it works (well, at least from my one experience!). In the Bahamas, our resort hired one person who was allowed on the property to braid hair and one man to walk the beach selling shirts and jewelry. However, they were not allowed to approach us, we had to go to them. But as soon as you walked off property down the beach, they were coming out of the woodwork!

Yes, I didn't hold the resort responsible for the crazy wave runner guy either.
I didn't find the resort tried to get every dollar from you either. However, bring your own sunscreen. It's $19 a bottle in the shop there!
