'Sup From Vegas

Hi all...

Found this site just surfin' the net looking for some honeymoon spots. We've settled with the Riviera Maya and look forward to getting tons of information for our trip which will be in November.

Anybody know what the weather is usually like down in PdC in November?

ESPECIALLY any hurricanes that might wink at me in November. Too little, too late, buddy. My dance card is FULL.

So I take it that Heather is the Weather Goddess of the area...
I do recall that the hurricane season usually ends in the beginning of November. Let's hope that Heather does the "No Hurricane Dance" upon our arrival.

So, I take it that the weather would be nice, say 70's or low 80's?

I was there 2 yrs ago in nov (my birthday).
Hot mostly with lots of intermittent rain showers (uh, downpours).
I dont ever remember needing a jacket to keep warm, just an umbrella to keep dry.
Was drenched when we sloshed down the 5th Ave in a downpour to make a PeepMeet.
I was there in nov in 1993 for my b.day too. Never rained, always sunny back then.
the weather has changed lots.

Suggestion: rent a car in Playa and do some other fun stuff.
Drive to cenotes, Tulum (my favorite El Paraiso beach), Xcaret, XelHa, Chichen Itza, etc.
Lots and Lots of things to do. Wonderful day trips to Cozumel too.
There's also amazing day trips with Alltournative (ask for my friend Jorge MACHADO, best Mayan guide EVER!! tell him Debbie in Vegas sent you. He is Mayan and speaks it also.) Alltournative - Off Track Adventures
Lots of activities can be booked directly thru Playa.info also.
Ask for Mitch: he is an awesome guide!!!

YOU WILL WANT TO GO BACK TO PLAYA MORE THAN ONCE. IT IS ADDICTIVE.

you will probably only see the 70's at night - it's hot around here but November should be great

Actually, hurricane season ends the last day of November, though in the past couple of years, there have been some named storms in December, damn them!

You will want to bring at least a jacket. It has been known to get down into the 60s as early as the first week in November. That happened the first year I lived here and, while I was rejoicing in the coolness, wearing jeans and a short-sleeved top, the locals had their babies in snowsuits and were bundled up for blizzards themselves. A sweater should be sufficient.

Thanks for all the info and welcomes. We're definitely are looking forward more to the honeymoon than the actual wedding.

We'll definitely check out some of the tours too. The cenotes is one thing I'd like to experience. Ya know, living in the desert, there isn't much for watering holes except for ones called "bars".
